dont ever use standard incandesent lightbulbs to grow, it will just kill em. you will need more cfls once switched to 12/12 and u start flowering

Standard incandescent light bulbs will not kill plants. You just need a ZILLION of them for them to work and no one uses enough of them so plants die from lack of adequate lighting.

it wont directly kill it itself but it will either make your plant stretch toward it or if its not to far away it'll burn em

good luck bud and remember that using 2700k red flowering spectrum will be ok for veg but it will wreck ur buds and make em all leafy if u try to use the 5000k(daylight) blue spectrum for flowering em.....at least from what ive seen and with veg u u only need like 2 42w 6500k but for flowering u'll want alot more

the first plant i ever grew was grown with a 225w incandescent spotlight, my yield was 13.5 grams dry after about 4 1/2 months of growing. it stretched a fair amount but grew surprisingly well and never got burned. incandescents are by no means good for growing but coming from someone with experience they arent as bad as everyone says, i think the bottom line is they are simply too inefficient and put off too much heat to be useful in an indoor growing situation. personally i think they are too inefficient to light my house with
