I've had them on for about 5 hours now, the cords seem the same temperature as when they weren't on. It did heat up quite a bit in there tho.

1 last question, since i just now discovered it gets a bit toasty in there i don't wanna have them on 24/0 like i did last time, so if i do 20/4 or 18/6 will light leaks during veg cause a hermie? Because during flowering i had to pin a blanket up over the door then pin a towel at the bottom of the door.... I just don't wanna deal with that till i have to lol.

a little bit of light leakage probably won't cause hermie, but you never know...

you should be using fans to circulate the air.

For this 150 HPS medical box grow, here is a setup with two computer fans pulling air from the bottom and two 120MM computer fans at the top pulling air out. There is also a 6inch table fan pushing the air to the top of the box so that it can blow on the plants and light.

This setup only raises the temperature by 2 degrees when compared to the room ambient temp. The ambient temp is 76 in this room and the sensor in the box reads 78.

Check out all the wattage I run for mine now. Started small then added a bunch. I have them on 2 surge protectors and plugged into my wall. No problems. I just vent the hell outta it, 3 fans in, and one big ass fans fulling in fresh, cool air. I never get above 75 degrees. Click on my signature to see what I started with, then what I bumped up to. But you will be fine as long as you have good ventilation. Lowes has 65 watt self ballast CFLS for 16 bucks. Those are worth checking out if you are running outta room with all the smaller CFL's.
