Is this a good aerogarden setup? And questions

I'm starting with my second grow and I'm using an aerogarden 7 this time. I wanted to put it in a large cardboard box with a pc fan on it and 150w HPS light sitting horizantal to the grow so it reaches the entire plants. I need it to be inconspicous and non noticable. It's for small auto's and single medium size plants for my personal grow .Will i need more fans in case of heat stress. is ionic grow/bloom good nutrients. what figure 8 size cord does the Aerogarden light need? Feel free to put any additional info. If you have an aerogarden grow can you leave some picks!

Marly: the side lighting will cost you more to run. One of the advantages of the A/G is that it's economical to operate. Have you considered some Mylar covered 'aimed' reflectors? Three will usually do the job; one behind your A/G, and one on each side. One guy I know puts up four but he admits that it makes it harder to service your garden. The reflectors allow you to recycle the light you already paid for back up to illuminate the lower parts of the plants that are usually shaded. A friend and I tried it with three and we got buds all the way down to the planting deck.

I wouldn't box your A/G as everyone I know who has had heat problems, especially in the reservoir.

As far as nutes are concerned, personally, I think Technaflora's, "Recipe for Success," is tailor made for A/G's. Their $30 sample/starter kit will last you a long time in an A/G and it's very user friendly. Just make sure you use good water, mix as per directions and monitor your pH daily. With that little reservoir things can happen real fast. You can get Technaflora at most hydro stores or on line. Before you ask, no, they don't pay me to promote their product. I just had very good results with it. I hope this helps. HSA

Thanks HSA i will use your advice. One more question, will the lights support 2 small plants like the easyrider autoflower?

Marley: I'm not familiar with that strain. If we're talking about a small strain then you should be fine. I grew two unknowns I picked out of a joint in 1984 and kept going to now. One is a Sativa and the other is a little Indica. In my A/G's I keep the Sativa to a height of 22 inches but in my bubble tub they go well over three feet, almost four, so you'll find that where there's a will there's a way. You might want to look at everything that A/G offers on line and the following resources:
1. Read: SeeMoreBud’s book, “MARIJUANA BUDS FOR LESS- GROW 8 OZ. OF BUDS FOR LESS THAN $100.”
2. Read: Jorge Cervantes’s book, “MARIJUANA HORTICULTURE THE INDOOR/OUTDOOR MEDICAL GROWER’S BIBLE.”
3. Read: Ed Rosenthal’s, “MARIJUANA GROWER’S HANDBOOK.”
4. You’ll also want to read: Mc Carthy’s book, “GROWING MARIJUANA.”
5. You should also subscribe to, “HIGH TIMES,” magazine. Each issue is chocked full of useful information. .” All these resources are very well written, well illustrated and packed with information that will answer most of your questions before you know to ask them. And I want to add a new book to the list, a 6[SUP]th[/SUP] one: “THE CANNABIS GROW BIBLE- SECOND EDITION,” written by Greg Green. It’s a match to, if not better than, the ones listed above. Doing your homework and consulting these resources will save you and your plants a lot of anxiety before you plant. The problem with these forums is that it takes time to get back to you and some times we're too late to really do you any good. I hope that helps. HSA
