Dont bother with that junk man. First of all any reflector with bends in it like that one will cause hot spots. You want to get a double parabolic or "batwing" reflector, they are the most efficient. Dont buy a kit. I did when I was starting out and I had to return it; and its loud as fuck. Then I bought a lumatek and holy shit I couldnt be happier. one ballast can run a 430 watt bulb and be dimmed to 275w, 250w, or pumped up to 30% more lumens with the "super lumens" switch. Its COMPLETELY silent and can run MH or HPS bulbs. And its only $175.
lumatek ballast - $175
bulb - $30
shade/socket - $50ish maybe...
total cost = $255 which is not much more than your amazon junk kit and you would be SOOOO much happier with it man. I promise you!
