Are you into flowering yet? The plant will show you sex after a week or so into flowering. If you are in flowering stage, then you're looking at the nodes (were the branches connect to the main stem.) If you see a calyx (look up "cannabis calyx" on google images) with a hair sticking out, then it's female. If you see a whole bunch of little balls, kinda like banana's in the way that they're stuck together, then it's male. Again, they'll show at where the branches connect to the main stem. So just have patience.... :P you'll know for yourself in time.

not flowering yet, i've kept them between 16 hrs of light to 24 hrs of light. so still vegging, the females of the bunch will be grown and kept vegging as mothers, so i want to identify the males before any flowering. on a couple other plants i think i see what looks like the calyx growing, and where the fine hairs would grow out of, but im not yet positive. although this one to me seems like its forming it's first pollen sacks.

i've got 5 plants in a small box, they were in small red plastic cups for a week or 2, then i transplanted into 1gallon pots, the 2 largest grew much faster so they got transplanted to 3gallon pots already. 1 or 2 more are just about needing the transplant, but i have no space to fit them all. until i identify a male or 2 and remove them.

thnx for the responses

It's a male.......you'll see in a couple days a whole bunch of pollen sacs will be visible........a female has a pistol with a hair protruding out of it.......that 2nd pic clearly shows the beginning of pollen sacs forming.....

acno, i'm in the same boat right now too, but I am seeing some hairs as well. Thinking hermie but we'll see what the next few days hold. Been flowering for about 10 days now, and just noticed the preflowers 2 days ago. Hope yours turns out a lady!

I wouldnt kill them yet. give them a little more time. your using the same container as me and mine are about 2 feet. just started 1 day ago flowering. No clue on my 2 plants. but im almost at your stage. i think the ball is not a ball all the time. ive seen them split and shoot out 2 hairs just saying. dont toss them yet.

yeah, i was considering it for a while, but i decided against pulling it yet. i will give it a few more days.

my only problem is, the 2 i suspect to be male, i have already transplanted into larger pots. it has restricted my space quite a bit. the 3 still in the smaller pots, i'm still unsure of the sex, a couple are needing transplanted into the bigger pots pretty soon.

i'll take new pics in a few days to show the change

well, it's now been a few days, and the plant from the first pictures in this thread, turned out to definitely be male. i discovered a huge pollen sack hanging, it was easily 5x to 10x as large as any of the other preflower growths on the plant. on the upside, i identified one sure female.

here are pictures of the first male, i cut him down tonight.
