Is this enough light?

So I have a space under my stairs in my basement that I am currently in the process of building a new grow room. This is my second grow, my first with HID's, first was CFL in rubbermaid containers. Actually went very well got almost 2oz off 5 plants.

Anyways what I was wondering was, I came across 2 MH lowbay light fixtures while on a job site, they are 150w's each. My grow space is 4ft wide by 3 feet across and 4 ft high. If I place these next to each other I should have enough watts per square foot to cover the entire 12 sqft right?

For flowering I plan on using 2 150w hps lamps for flowering with 1 of the MH in the middle (better spectum coverage im told?).

any ideas and opinions would be appreciated, also how many plants would I be able to fit if I planed on LSTing?

that looks good for light - make sure you figure out the venting before you put plants in there.

im not to worried about heat yet, im in New England and my basement will be cool until march-april so the temps shouldnt get very low when the lights are on and the room is insulated so the temp should hold (im hoping) I may ahve to get a small heater when the lights are off.

How many plants do you think i can fit 5-7 lsting?

not to be disagreeable but heat will still be an issue. you have the equivalent of a 300 watt space heater in 48 cubic feet - it will get too hot after several hours with the light on. on the other hand, even with insulation, it will get as cold as the temps outside the grow area within the 12 hours the lights are off. bet you good money you're going to need both venting for heat and a small heater for when the lights are on.

eight plants is probably reasonable, esp if you use square pots.

I had planned on using a 6" duct boosting fan its the $25 one that they sell, eventually i would fit a carbon filter on, or I was looking into one of those ozone odor neutralizers.

I want to try and avoid putting a heater in there, mostly for safety issues, but I may have to.

Come may or so when the lights start to raise the temps to high im going to make some kind of cool tubes for them.

those 6" duct fans will NOT pull air through a carbon filter - they are shitty and realistically move about 20 CFM... a good computer fan is more powerful.

The 6 inch duct fans are rated at 160cfm
What would you suggest using besides $100 vortex?
I could always put a fan on each side, that would definitely move more air through the carbon filter.

there's not much you can get for cheap... i'd watch ebay for a 4" or 6" fantech or vortex...

those duct booster fans are ridiculous... i threw mine away

50 bucks got me an inline duct fan, If you can find one at home depot or an air conditioning shop it's like 30, i use it for intake in a big room works great

im not not worried about intake, its finding a fan that's not a $100 and is strong enough to push air through a carbon filter efficiently, thats the problem.

Yeah I saw that thread earlier today , very interesting shipping is only like $9, thats a more reasonable option than a vortex.
