Is this from bugs?

Wondering if this is from bug or could it be from overwintering due to a good amount of rain we got. This is an outdoor grow in Michigan. We seem to be having caterpillars bad this year as there is caterpillar poop on my plants leaves. I have taken about 4 caterpillars off my plants in like a week. I have some BT spray should i spray them or are they to young?
