Is this good way to dry mushrooms?

Can I put mushrooms between 2 paper towels and leave them in a cabinet to dry?

I am not worried about drying them fast so I am trying not to use a fan. Once the mushrooms are dry will they turn brown and be easy to break apart?

Not really you want moving air so to speak.

And yes once they are dry the will break apart very easily.

Desiccant is cheap and works very well.

And if you don't wanna buy it you can make your own with epsom salt.

you can also set them on top of a fan for a few days - ie box fan turned on its side

If you plan on drying shroomies in the future you might want to invest in a dehydrator. That is how i dry mine. I put the temp on about 105degrees. They dry pretty quick that way. You can also make good beef jerky with it.

Im in a humid enviroment the dehydrators dont cut it for storage , I find I desicant chamber nessary

A chamber is supper eazy to build and has a varity of uses
