Hello everyone! Just wondering if this 600w hps light is safe to use. I tried unscrewing the light from the hood and it was really tough to get out. When it came out I noticed the small slits on the base were stretched even further. Would you guys use it? I havent tried pumping electricity through it yet.
Is this light safe?

The physical body (mounting holes/slits) of the light doesn't have a lot to do with the operation, so...
Chech the wire insulation for flexability, if it's stiff or cracked, it has to be replaced.
Check the socket for corrosion, rust can be removed with steel wool.
Any exposed connections or wires must be insulated, and a good ground is essential.
Any discolouration/leaking from the ballast? - That would be bad.
Anyway, pics please. Most things like this can be used after a good servicing.
