is this normal for buds? please help.

Here I have 1 Afghan auto mass from 00seeds and 1 wedding cheesecake from fast buds.
they are both 13 weeks, this is week 8th of flowering. I’ve been using Canna nutrients and kept at a average of 1,4 EC throughout their adult life.
the light is HPS 600w distance 40 cm on most of the canopy but some areas might be a bit closer.
I am concerned about the look of the buds. they look really leafy. This is my 2nd grow so I wouldn’t know a healthy bud from a meatball so Help is Dearly Appreciated.

Looks to be heat stressed and or reveged at some point.

What temps in the space and what do you have in the space that could be giving even a slight bit of light during dark period?

Blinking light, a small red light on a timer, a hole in the tent, any little bit of light during dark period can really mess up your grow.

From the looks of the outside of the plant without seeing a close shot of the trichomes I'd say it's probably chop ready.

Probably. Again no trichomes to confirm that.

Def heat stressed but good luck with your harvest anyway

They do have foilage but at the same time they look pretty good so they look all so shiny or glossy did you spray them with something and some strains are leafier than others some strains are all bud you know just depends but yeah plants look good..Buds look good and that foliage really under an HPS light should not be heavy...HPS ceramic metal halide you know produce you know buds I feel like denser buds I'm not sure if LED or something like that lights bring on more foliage on a plant or not... but he'll what do I know I'm just like you man I'm a newbie as well so I'm learning as I go and I'm on my second grow and how to say it is a very very tedious thing to do but the payoff is remarkable

Bit of an update now that I am somewhat back to my senses. Was blazed last night.
They are both auto flowering. I have 4 buckets and wanted to start Wedding CheeseCake in all of them but some didn’t sprout. only got 2 going so I put 1 bluedreamatic and 1 afghan auto mass to have 4 plant going. but that’s how it got tricky cause I lost control over the height of the canopy. the space I am using to grow in is also not easy to move the plant around. so once the 2 in the “back” got big there was no way for me to easily reach them. I have tried to keep the Light to a reasonable distance but I have failed around week 3 of flowering and that’s when I noticed things going funny. Now I am also limited by the height of the room. 1 of the WCC got to 135cm. the bucket are already 30cm. things got a bit out of hand.

I greatly appreciate that you guys took the time to help me out.
I will start flushing today for 3-4 days and then chop’em.
I have 10 beans of Pineapple now so Next Grow should at least be somewhat unfiorm.
thank you again and happy growing you all !!!

Thank you for your time man!
We ll reach some higher level of knowledge eventually. practice makes perfect
I haven’t sprayed them with anything. they look really good.
It was an easy grow as well. this was the only issue that i got the light to close to the canopy. I will sure pay more attention to this next time.
I got a magnifying glass and the thrichomes (or whatever the correct terminology) seem to be nice and “milky” so I am going to use the few days off I have to get them hanging
Good Luck with your ladies!

Definitely to close to the light.

the room I am using is completely dark on the dark hours.
temperature is another issue though. it stayed mainly at 20 both in the room and the tank. but I had a low of 15 a couple of times and a high of 24. all Celsius.
I am aware that at canopy level that HPS is blasting heat on them living things but I have done the “arm test” for 30 sec and I was fine.
maybe I got thick skin

I really appreciate your input.
as I mentioned in some reply below, I have a magnifying glass and they look chop ready. most of the trichomes are milky/cloudy and some even on the brownish side.
so I am going to skip the flush and get it drying in the next 2 days.

Thank you and good luck !
