We are in day 6 of running our flush chemical at the end of our grow, and the buds are are shooting up baby fingers 1-1/2" tall and 1/4-3/8" around. We were only gonna flush for 10 days, but WTF?

I believe this is referred to as foxtailing. It can be a sign that your buds aren't quite done. It isn't anything to worry about though. If the trichs are to your liking than continue your flush. What method are you using? DWC, Soil, Hydro, Aero etc?

They looked good to us under the microscope. This is our first grow though, so we could be wrong. What would you do?

During my recent read of SKUNK mag it stated that milky trichromes are NOT a sign of a finished flower. It said to think of it like lava that during peak production it is clear as it is moving so fast and becomes milky as it slows down. The plant can go through this process many times during the flowering period. You want to see atleast 60 percent change in hair from white to orange combined with the appearance of amber trichromes. Start your flush as soon as you see amber tric's and you'll be on your way to harvesting some top shelf bud, now just to give it the proper cure.

How long have they been under 12/12 conditions? How long since the first appearance of pistils? From seed or clone?

I had a similar situation with my jack herrer. the dried buds looked fucking awefull. A couple different people told me it was from heat stress. Keep your temps inline.
