i think i need a pic... even then i get the feeling this is going to be a tough one. I've never seen that happen before, let alone with 8/10 beans.

yes it is correct to plant the root tip into the dirt first.

did the seed casing come off before they started growing back into the dirt?

It's because you aren't putting the seeds far enough down in the dirt. I would just give it a day or two and if it doesn't stand up then I would add more soil around the base of it to hold it up. Should recover just fine.

how big a light you got on them? how close? my first thought was it was just upside down, but that bulge on the left looks like a head. i had dinfem white siberian kinda do that, came up with the shell casing on it after it had been planted upside down and needed turning around, first grow experience lol live an learn eh. i'd maybe have a little dig around that bulbous part, see if u can lift it up and show it the light and get some soil around it

Looks like it just hasn't completely come out of the dirt yet. Don't dig it up just leave it alone for now it will pop up when its ready.

the direction that you put the seed in doesn't matter. You can put it in root facing up or down. The root will follow gravity and grow downward and the top of the plant will grow up towards the light. That's just how it works. In nature the plant doesn't drop it's seeds so that where the root will come out lands perfectly on the ground.

It's because he did't plant the seed deep enough and the roots are to close to the surface so it's pushing the plant up instead of the roots growing downward. Just add some soil around the base and it'll be fine in a day or two.

Leave them be they will come out eventually. I see those all the time the after 24 hours of putting them in the soil. That is how they form or you could add a bit of layer, I don't though they will find their way.
