Issues with lighting Please help..

Hey guys so I have a question concerning lighting!!

I did some research concerning LED's and I've come the conclusion there a waste of time an money if you want a good yield at the end of the flowering period!!

So I'm creating a growing chamber to make the most of my space!!

I'm building a two build closed system..

MH Bulb for the growth stage..
HPS bulb for the flowering stage..

My question is wattage!, I've heard everything from 200 - 1000 Watts is need..

My available area is 2 feet by 1.8 feet, as for height we can go as high as 6 feet.

I just want to know what wattage people have been using and what I should do!

Thanks Guys !!!

That small of a space you'll not want anything really over a 250watt hps or you'll find it really hard to keep the heat down...even still using a HID in such a small space you are going to be battling heat issues...you could do a 250 in a small cooltube maybe...just be sure to have plenty of ventilation and you should be ok...

well I am not 100% and I think its hard to say how much light you need because every plant is a different size. I think you need about 100-150watts per plant. I grow with CFL s.......

you cant go wrong with a 400w hps...as far as heat goes it puts out more then the 250w, but not by much at all...you also have twice the lumens, and penetration, not to mention you would have like...4,000 some lumens per sq. ft. and thats assuming your light is 6 ft. up.
