...of the netted pots? Am i supposed to remove an inch of water or let it be til the plant consumes it naturally?
Its been a week and the roots are underwater yet the waterline is still at the base..

they will grow into the water just leave it once you start pulling the net pots out you can damage the roots its best to just leave everything alone till you need to add more nutes

Just be patient. It will start sucking down the liquid soon enough.
Some DWC growers (myself included) keep the water level at the bottom of the net pot for the entire grow, topping off what has been consumed with water/nutrients daily based on the EC/PPM readings and what the plant is saying.

Yes, they don't drink as much at first, but in a few weeks they'll be sucking it down.
