It's early, but I'm chopping!

cliudy is what he wants, just not amber

if he wants a good cerebral buzz he should go for about 75% cloudy 25% clear. if he starts seeing the amber come in before this he should chop immediately.

if he chops at clear and no cloudy, its a waste. thats not IMO it is a fact.
U must not of had enough harvests, to figure out what high u like. If u like reading facts so much. How did u miss this...The harvest window is one aspect of the craft which unfortunately, gets over looked or the grower simply doesn’t have the patience to wait-out the last few days, to insure max THC content. Some strains are better harvested before their peak THC production and some are better harvested after their peak THC production. This is what Robert Clark wrote in his book “marijuana Botany” about trichomes and what they tell us; “The elevated resin heads appear clear, since fresh resin is still being secreted, often being produced in the cellular head of the trichome. At this time THC acid production is at a peak and CBD acid levels remain stable as the molecules are rapidly converted to THC acids, THC acid synthesis has not been active long enough for a high level of CBN acid to build up from the degradation of THC acid by light and heat. Terpene production is also nearing a peak and the floral clusters are beautifully aromatic. Many cultivators prefer to pick some of their strains during this stage in order to produce marijuana with a clear, cerebral, psychoactive effect It is believed that, in peak floral clusters, the low levels of CBD and CBN allow the high level of THC to act without their sedative effects.”
What the hell does this mean?
When growing Indica hybrids, unless you want to end up on the couch, it’s best to harvest when the trichome heads are fully formed but before they start to cloud over and turn amber. According to the maturation time of the specific strain this could take as little as five days or as long as two weeks. If you allow an Indica to go too long you can dramatically affect the taste and high. Fortunately going too long is not a real problem for most people. I like to study close-up photos taken with a high resolution digital camera; however an inexpensive hand-held microscope works wonders. It almost looks like you are in an alien world when looking at resinated buds using fifty-times-power.
With the Sativa dominant hybrids you want to make sure that all the trichome heads are fully formed and also about thirty percent amber. Letting a plant mature beyond this will risk flavor as well as, the finished smoke may be harsh with very little “high”. There are exceptions as I mentioned; Haze has three different harvest windows all being very late into flower. It is every grower’s job to learn what he or his patients prefer in the terms of “High”.
We have not yet addressed yields because if you are at the third stage of floral maturity with fully form trichomes, then we will have to assume most strains have packed on all their final weight. Even then, there are variables but we can use the guide-lines spelled out below to help gauge the best harvest window for your plants based on the trichomes.

1. Fully formed but still clear will provide a cleaner ‘up’ high with less sedative effect; this is the best window for heavy Indicas.
2. Fully formed and turning slightly cloudy or milky; this is probably the best time to pick most hybrids available today.
3. Fully formed completely cloudy or milky with at least thirty percent of the heads turning amber; this is usually best window for the late maturing Sativa’s such as Haze. This is also a good window when using the plant primarily for Hash production. Ps, this is takin from Subcools Amber Alert thread. He belives it also.. Fact!

I agree. But he can harvest with clear thrichs. Not now. But when they are fully formed, thats a few weeks away..

yes please dont harvest. you will be thoroughly disappointed. you can leave it prob a good 3-4 weeks and still hve clear trichs, which will give you the same high but will be waaaay stronger. you would be lucky to get an ounce of that plant if harvested now. to me 3 months of hard work is worth a measily ounce. leave it longer and get a better yield

Well i started this plant from a seed at the end of November, and started flowering Jan 20th, so waiting is not my issue. I just don't want to change the type of stone it is producing now, and if you guys are saying to let it go a couple more weeks and watch the trics, then i will do just that, but as soon as the trics start going cloudy, its getting flushed and axed. Thanks for the advice guys

you can let them some get cloudy and still get the high. if you want a good intense high leave half and half clear and cloudy. with no amber. but make sure they look like mushrooms with caps.

hey electric i just check my plants today and some trics are cloudy but not all are mushroom shape...hey runnin if u don't have anything to look at the trics with i bought a lil scope from radio shack today for 12 bucsk works badass just hard to look at the trics on the plant cause it moves but when u get the hang off it it works good...

duuuude. let them get a little cloudy. at least like 30% you wont be sorry. and you will get an even more of an intense head high. amber is what gives you body. cloudy more heady with a tad a body. but with a majority clear you will get a head high. but by letting some of them turn cloudy will allow the thc acids to build up more and some of them be converted to CBD which are another key component to the intensity to the high. ie more intense head high. an added bonus to this is get prob twice the yield you would if harvested now. you pack on most of the weight and resin production in the later weeks of flower. also after its flushed and ready to harvest leave it in total darkness for 48-72 hours. this will increase the resin content.

So then explain how both myself and two of my friends i got the most mind blowing heady high that we still felt retarded the next day?

I have a scope. I have been looking at the trics. I just don't want them to get cloudy. They are already mushroomed.
Regardless of what anyone says you don't want to harvest all clear unless you want the munchies and not much else..as a few have said you want milky and no amber..milky means they're mature and at the peak thc(up high) Once they get amber it degrades and turns into a down body stone..If you want a soaring headie high you want at least 50 50 clear milky and preferably 100% milky. That being said since you want no body stone at all if I were you I would error on the side of caution and go for 75-90% milky to play it safe
