I started out deciding to use cfl.. After buying HALF of the bulbs need(other half i had previously so technically i bought those to) i realized that buying a HPS light would have been cheaper than the cfl 100watt per sq ft. Thats 4-5 bulbs a plant.. And for a 4 pack run $30. So i have to use 45 bulbs roughly. Seems like way to much work in the end. And i love my money more when its in my pocket.

So. Will a 400w or 600w hps cover all 9 girls with no problem? Im in a confined space.
3 auto rest are photoperiod. I want to leave my photoperiod girls in vegative until my autos are ready to harvest.. So yea.. Help me figure out the system i need. No diy. Im tired of doin it myself 😂

My cfl are independt over the photo period and the autos. So light from plant distance can be adjusted per girl.
But i just want to throw in 1 light and not have to move it everyday

What's your grow area total size? A 400W HPS can cover 1 square metre and a 600W close to 1,5 metres.

CFL has trouble penetrating the canopy come flowering.

Rectangular spaces are tough to light. Most lamps/reflectors are going to project light into a square pattern.
For a 2x6 footprint, you may be better off with 2x400.
