Im going to have a cfl grow. The temps in my apt are about 78f. I need to keep my heat down. Especially with my dog. So im gonna use cfls for my grow. How are they in comparison. I know the buds aren't as dense, but that's pretty much atmospheric right?

talk to a brotha. lol

lumen per lumen, hps and cfl produce the same heat, go hps, they have the penetration you need.
No friggen way i mean maybe if you have an air cooled hood yeah but can you hold on to your hps for oh well ever and not burn yourself if they produced the same heat maybe you should try to put your hps like 2 inches from your plants????

sorry biggravy but you will always always get people who tell you things like this some people just don't believe in the power of cfls

I know. It's always go big or go home. I've seen some solid cfl grows on here.

No light leaks whatsoever. lined with panda film. If you keep all the light within the grow area it should allow for solid growth.Right?

Yep .. and the more the merrier... for flowering use different color spectrums (red, Blues ) I use cfls and mother nature

uh, that would be watt for watt the same heat but a lot more lumen and penetration.

(for lumens you *need* to look at bulb vs bulb, not the total of all bulbs)

I might ad I had tight buds too .. mostly the top buds that were closest to the lights were the ones .. so if you keep your plants close to the lights you'll get tight buds , but my lower buds were not as tight and thick , They were more fluffy ... Next time I'm using 12 lights

12 lights? 12 x 26w(real) lights? Thats 300W!
(ponder a HPS light)
