Hi first time in growing an i have decided to use a IWS Deep Water Culture 12 pot system.

What i would like to know is what times an how long should i flood an drain for?

Also should i just leave the Air Stone pump on or put that on a timer too?

Cheers

You need to keep the water pumping 24/7, you want to keep the worst new on 24/7 as well.

mate in the IWS DWC the flood n drain is just to mix the solution to keep it more even. at first just once a day, id only do it max 3 times !
i dont have one by the way but have looked at em. just remember its dwc not flood n drain. heavy idea for a system though just make sure you use cannazyme or similar cause one plants root disease can spread in that system. every system has probs though and you have a good one !
iws customer service is pretty good and they got some good information.
good luck let us know how you go

wont hurt to leave stones on other than straining the pump more. How often to flood and drain is up to you. The whole purpose of draining is to supply oxygen to the roots so if you are using air stones in each plant u could leave flooded 24/7. Like the person above said since you have air supply (DWC) then your main objective in draining is to keep nutes mixed well through out the system.

I am also in the process of changing over to a ebb&grow system that I plan to use as DWC system. Should get control bucket tomorrow in the mail.
