J-mon's bubbleroom grow journal

I decided to start a journal for my new grow. I am currently two weeks into my grow, with some seeds that were in a bag of dank bud that I recieved a while back. Defintely appears to be an Indica strain, but other than that, its a mystery. I decided to call it Mystery Dank(MD for short). This was really just a trial grow to get ready for my seed purchase from the Attitude. I had started these seeds in dirt and against most recomendations transfered to hydro. The three larger plants have been going in the Bubblemaid for 10 days now. Yesterday I tranplanted five more into a second unit, because they were starting to look sickly in the soil. They are wilted but already have perked up a little from the hydro. Another day or so will tell me if they are going to pull through. Thanks to everyone in the Bubbleheads gang(Rose, Mostly, Maj, etc.) for the help so far! Thanks for tuning in and I'll be posting pics in the next post.

I'll be posting the different stages in the next few posts. Picture one is of my two biggest plants, before I transplanted into hydro. I call them Mary and Jane!! In the second picture you can see the runt in the back left corner, he was started in the hydro, from seed(now he has taken off).

Here are a few more pics from the 18th. I installed my new homade light fixture. It consists of a 200 watt cfl($45) and a reflector hood($25) that I got on ebay. I will now use the clamp lights for the second tub and for side lighting once the plants get taller. The 200 watt CFL only made a degree or two difference in my growroom! They are starting to get real bushy!

I completely homebuilt all my Bubblemaids(as I call them). It is WAY more fun and gives you a since of accomplishment to build from scratch. Everything, like many others have said, can be found at local hardware and pet stores. When all is said and done it may not be cheaper then the kit, but I like to make sure my bubblemaid has the best parts, nutes, etc.....Pics are from the 19th.

Here are the most recent pics. I used chrome duct tape for reflective top on Bubblemaids, in case anyone was wondering($3 walmart). Works great and you can go wrap crazy!!!!!!! Trying to promote some more upward growth, I fimmed(topped) the three in the first tank today. I did a "stretch" for 24 hours but only got about an inch or so. Hopefully the second tank will liven up soon! Anyone with questions please feel free to ask and I'll do my best to answer or get a fellow bubblehead to answer!

Here is the Ugly Duckling!!! The ugliest pot plant ever! He was started at the same time as the rest, but..... Not sure what went wrong with this guy, but I'm going to see him through to the end in soil. We will see what happens!

I average one deformed dud out of six seeds.

Here are some new pics from today, they are starting to fill in ALOT! Not getting tall at all even after a 18+ hour stretch? The third pic is a plant my buddy gave to me cause he was moving. It has started to flower already for about a week.

Hey Roseman, I will be at 3 weeks on thursday! Mine just won't get tall though, even after a 18+ hour stretch! Could it be not enough light( 1-200 watt 6500K, 2-26 watt 2700K)? How many watts per bucket are you using? PH is 5.9 and I'm using Fox farms nutes at 900 ppm which is less then there feeding schedule calls for. I just posted some new pics, the back right is taking off as well as the back left(which was the runt). The previously larger front plant has "stalled" a little bit in comparison. Do they look ok for 2.5 weeks? Need some reasurance from the great one! :) Thanks!

You have ample light and it is going to grow horizontally more at the beginning, before it grows verticallly up. At 21 days, yours looked like mine did at 21 days and you are getting very good growth rate to me.

How many watts per bucket are you using?
a 105, and 2 85s now, much more than needed.

Well, I assure you, you're doing great and they are too.! Caution feeding them is a wise move on your part. Get the humdiity up if you can, mist them daily and keep an oscilationg fan very gently blowing over them.
They are going to start stinking this week.

Well its been three weeks and the two back plants are taking off! I am getting worried about the front plant as growth has pretty much stalled! Could it be nutritional lockout? PH has been 5.8 to 6.0 the whole grow. Should I do 8 step recovery being that the other two plants are very healthy? I am doing a resevior change tommorow regardless.
