I think Rid uses recycled peat with other things added like hydroton and a certain kind of rinsed kitty litter but then again he's always making tweaks so I don't know what he's doing right at the moment.

He was using jacks citrus for a long time and I think he still is, but he's also experimented with adding things at different stages like sulfur and possibly even a PK booster near the end? Again, he's always changing things up so I don't know exactly what he does now. But I know he likes jacks citrus and am almost positive that's what his plants get fed for almost their entire life.

New grower here, I just need a simple question answered, which Jack's products should I get? I unfortunately have AN right now, $150 for bottles of bullshit. So trying to steer away from the liquid stuff. What lured me in was the density and terpene/ resin production so can I get that from this brand?

I am switching to Jack's and just received 1.5 lb. of citrus 20-10-20...and 8 oz. each of 20-20-20...10-30-20...and 30-10-10.
It cost (factory direct) $26.76...
I just fed them yesterday for the 1st time Jack's 20-10-20 citrus 1/4 teaspoon...feeling my way through the stuff right now.
At $26.76 compared to your AN $150...who cares if you buy more stuff than you need...
$26.76 is not much more than one bottle of FF stuff I was using that has expiration dates...
I hear some run the citrus beginning to end. Since the other stuff was reasonably priced, I bought a little of each. If I don't use it inside, next years tomatoes and peppers will get to try it. Lol.

Are there directions on how much and when to use it? I don't need a feeding chart, so long as it at least tells me "Use X during weeks Y-Z"

You can call Jacks or
Hydro-gardens.com . I used the latter- they often have smaller sizes than listed on the website so you need to call them.
In either case, you're looking for;
5-11-26 hydroponic mix plus micros
Calcium nitrate
Magnesium sulfate heptahydrate, aka epsom salt
MKP, or monopotassium phosphate
You can get epsom salt at Wal-Mart or your drug store cheap enough that it isn't worth the shipping, so get that locally.

No...this Jack's stuff is what nursery & greenhouses use...use common sense, that's all. Read some grow reports that use it, etc. I started at 1/4 tsp. as a starting point...it says 1 tablespoon every 7-10 days on the citrus instructions on tub...but we both know that's ridiculous, right? It's a powerful salt based nute...proceed with caution at first, that's all...you'll feel your way through it...you can recognize tip burn, right...? Go slow...it will work for you...

If you're planning to use it for a crop you'll be earning money with, it only makes sense to get a TDS meter so you can measure your nutrient strength and a pH meter so you can manage your acidity levels.
GET GOOD ONES, CHEAP INSTRUMENTS ARE A FOOL'S ECONOMY!
That's free advice, worth hundreds of times what you paid for it.
EDIT; a TDS meter will still help you in soil, so you can measure and control the nutrient strength going in and measure the strength of the runoff coming out.

Don't forget to flush when necessary...it will surely build up a little I would think (talking soil again).

I know guys who use 9-11-11 liquid tomato food for veg., their plants look nice to me...
Theoretically, you're right...my old FF stuff was 6-4-4 and 2-8-4 I think
But I've seen a more flat line N P K also work to obvious success...
There's stuff to look at in the threads here...explore!
Wasting money on colorful bottles is not me anymore...this stuff works in nurseries, I'm trying it.

Just ordered 3lbs of citrus feED for under $35. Will be using FFHF I think.
I water thru spitters and have an inline nutrient feeder. Getting ratios right with the feeder will make thinks a bit harder but being able to water everything just by turning a valve makes watering so easy with a spitter on each bucket. I also have very hard water and feel that throws things off a bit but have been doing well in FFOF with very minimal feeding of FF nutes under custom cob vero and cree led fixtures I made. But I know I can do better so thanks for info on jacks.
This will be new learning experience but feel I am moving in right direction
