There's some good bits in here about trace elements.

Tell me this aint dumb luck? Not wanting to go through the hassle of ordering nutes from jacksnutrients because their packing tape advertises "Jack's Hydroponic Nutrients", I decided to get Peter's Pro 5-11-26 from Custom Hydro because they ship discretely. The tradeoff is that Peter's Pro has a bit less P and Epsom than Jack's 5-12-26. So I plugged Peter's Pro and STEM into hydro buddy, and low and behold the micro levels are about spot on to my targets, much more so than I was able to achieve using Flora Micro with Jack's, and if memory serves me, also STEM with Jack's, though that doesn't seem right as Jack's and Peter's have identical trace element values.I don't like that at all, did you run the numbers through hydrobuddy? The Zn and Mn are higher than the Fe.
Here's where I'm at..
Fe 2.0
Zn 0.3
B 0.3
Mn 1.0
Cu 0.2
Mo .05
It looks like they have a wide variety of formulas, but I can't find any links on their page to individual products unless they use the same blanket trace element ratios for all of the formulas. I never heard of this brand though so I'll be looking for what I can about them regardless.I use Jack's and noticed a buddy using something called Grow more. looks like another dry salt mix. has anyone ever compared it to jacks?
id try this@im4satori
I have a question if you dont mind helping me out. I recently changed my ro membranes and my water comes out at 0ppm. I do top feed drain to waste with rockwool Hugo's under 1k gavitas and 315w cmh between. i use Jack's hydro 5-12-26 calnit, mpk and Epsom.
for bloom I've been using
2 jacks
2 calnit
.75 mpk
.75 Epsom
after mixing my ph is around 4.2ish.
I then add about 4-5cap fulls of advanced nutrients ph (0-0-45) up to get my ph to 5.8-6.0. about 220g resi.
I remember you saying that a lot of K can mess things up and I was concerned if I was throwing things out of ratio. I wouldn't mind using silica to ph up but I dont know it will affect the ratios.
I've also been intrested in trying jacks aqua gold finisher 7-15-30 during bloom and was curious on those mixing ratios.
thank you. I dont have an si product so I'll try agsil. I sometimes use power si in my foliar.id try this
bloom
calnite 1.8 grams
mix 2 grams
Mkp 0.2 grams
Epsom 0.75
Si 0.2 grams (this is assuming your using the agsil that contains 32 K and 45 Si)
veg
bloom
calnite 2 grams
mix 2 grams
Epsom 0.75
Si 0.2 grams (this is assuming your using the agsil that contains 32 K and 45
I've always aimed for 5.7 - 6.1. I would however soak the cubes in 5.2-5.5 water. what are you saying is the optimal ph range?I can't imagine 5 capfuls is going to add much K to 220 gallons.. How many milliliters would you guess is in 5 capfuls? I think 5.5ph is the target you're after for rockwool so you could probably use a little less PH up..
I also pre soak at like 5.0 the first timeI've always aimed for 5.7 - 6.1. I would however soak the cubes in 5.2-5.5 water. what are you saying is the optimal ph range?
That gets tricky as I have 5 different regimens for bloom to highlight different elements at different stages, so my Peter's usage fluctuates. I realize that after altering the Stem, my numbers will differ slightly chart to chart and that's fine, I just wanted to achieve a little closer than just pretty close. So basicly I'd have to analyze the STEM doses and average them out to see what's the best baseline number to use in the math, or even mid bloom as that's a 3-4 week period. What concerns me is how do I edit the values of Fe in the STEM substance details? If right now Fe is 7.5%, how would I bump that up to 8% or whatever number I end up with if the new product is only 10% itself. When used alone, I comprehend how it works in the app, but when trying to mix to make a new substance, how do I add in the 10%, and edit the STEM Fe value accurately?I don't see why you couldn't do that. If for example hydrobuddy is telling you to add .1 gram per gallon of STEM and .03 grams per gallon of Iron then you would just add .03 iron to every .1 stem, and after mixing use it combined at .13 grams per gallon. If you wanna tell me how much 5-11-26 you are using I can see what I come up with if that helps..
