I've ordered 5 of those Japanese red maple Seeds; I'll do a grow log in this forum when I start. I want to grow one out and give it to my mother in law as a gift.

You should check out Acer palmatum var. dissectum, really cool branch architecture. I got 3 in my yard and 4 regular Japanese Maples. Prob one of my favorite trees.

They are really nice looking! My hubby and I are growing some, they are just babies still. And yeah, they take a long time to germinate lol

there is another plant that is much smaller than the Jap Red Maple. its called a Texas Red Star Hibiscus. stays small and grows giant red or pink flowers. i keep them mixed in the back garden for a bit of camo.
Hey thats a nice bit of information!

I've been looking for another plant my grandma used to grow. It had a big bulbous flower on a stem, similar to an opium poppy, with HUGE 7-9 point fan leaves like an indica. The leaves weren't really serrated but the structure was perfect. She always called them four'o'clocks but everywhere I've found them it's not the same thing. These would be the perfect camo plant.

those jap. maples make tiny helicopter seeds. about 1/2 to 1/4 the size of the normal maple helicopter seeds.
the cleomes grow whisker things with pods like beans hanging off them. they will grow fuckin anywhere, and have you ever smelled them? kinda skunky..
if you want some you should find the seed rack at your local dollar tree this time of year. their seeds are 4 for a buck so you could buy some cleomes, big pretty blue morning glories, some 'maters, lettuce, peppers, eggplants, squash, melons, all kind of shit.

I have always wanted to maintain a Japanese Garden in my backyard. Those trees are beautiful, I've alway wanted one.

My wife has bonsai-ed a number of Japanese red maples over the years, and they're beautiful trees-- looks similar to cannabis but different family entirely. We have a 6 footer in a container that my crotchety old neighbor always questions!

I see Japanese maples in Michigan all the time. I used to pick the leaves and leave them laying around for people. It is a cool looking tree, I approve of this tree.
