Hey, I was checking one jar and the tape had come off leaving the puncture hole open to the air. It happened on the jar that has the most growth. I put tape over the top again. It's ok?

It shouldn't matter really. Just make sure it isn't a tape that will create a vapor barrier. How are your starter jars doing anyways? How much colonization would you say you have? You have better air temp there so I'm sure you would have better growth. Dont worry so much about the tape though. That's part of the reason the dry verm goes ontop.

So I don't want it sealed? I should take off the tape? I used foil tape, I'm sure its air tight.

Great growth, the best jar is probably 50% white, the slowest is about 20%

No problem. I have always been told, if i where to cover those holes, to use something like breathable medic tape or masking tape in lo of. Glade to hear they are doing so well. It is def a good thing to hear. Pulled some more of my cakes today. Going to wait till they slow, do a 24 hour dunk, bring the temps down and start again!

I had the best open eye visuals ever. Watched the fist part of the OZ and was blown away. It sent me into truly deep thought as well. On the down side, I ate the 1/8 i got off the cakes already, but the rest of them are about ready to join so the flushes should be better and better here very soon. Going to take a nap.
