What you don't understand is a person's moral convictions are more important than their political stances. Two people can not have a single political commonality and still get along. While two other people can agree on every political position, but all it takes is for just one of the pair to be a jerk.

If you don't agree just move on and find something else in common. I'm pretty sure there's plenty of communists who share the love of your same sports team. Maybe you have a hobby, there's a communist who shares it.

Judging a person based on a political stance and if you get along with them is much harder.

My whole family loves Trump and Jesus. Those are two topics I don't care one bit about.

What I do is let them rant a bit. STFU while they pray. Then finally steer the conversation to topics on subjects I know both of us enjoy. Like an uncle who's into technology, or with my grandmother who's into movies.

The funny thing is I can even talk about something I agree that Trump's done, but there's some sort of code his supporters use, they take offense at neutral statements too.

I don't think a communist is so terrible that no matter who they are it warrants getting joy from their tears? Do you enjoy feeling like shedding tears? Should they cheer if you happen to get fired because a greedy capitalist right sized you, and now you can't afford a single Christmas present for your kids?

A real communist would feel sorry that your boss was such a scumbag, who put profits over their workers.

The sad part is most people need a tragedy of some sort to wake them up, but what's doubly sad is the person only becomes an advocate in the area they were wronged, instead of for all.

That's really all communism is. We're a community of human beings who share.
