Jesus Christ never existed

I don't believe Jesus Christ, as a man, ever actually existed on Earth.

This thread is a platform to prove me wrong. Post every piece of real, substantiated evidence that you have. I believe he could have been a man who was simply used as a means to perpetuate a lie. Nothing divine about him.

I'm guessing this thread will draw quite a bit of controversy, but in the end, will remain what it started out as - just a simple claim - nothing more, nothing less (as most religious debates do..)

Jesus will remain a figure in fiction..

So believers, what is your best evidence that Jesus Christ actually existed, as a man, some 2,000 years ago, and what is your best evidence that said man was divine?

I remember being a little kid and bugging out when I found out jesus was a real person. I was always under the impression it was all made up stories to teach people lessons. one of the first times my mind was blown (that I can remember)...but now as a functioning adult I can safely say I think its all stories, jesus Christ may have been a person but he didn't walk on water or come back to life after a few days of being dead. Ive said it before but I just think these lessons are good for people dealing with an addiction or cant cope with life on there own. Not putting anyone down, but human evolution is heading in the other direction. (mayan tribe worshiping gods in the jungle vs. mainstream America getting an education and living for themselves) I still belive in karma and being a good person but live a productive life and better yourself and others, instead of trying to do favors for some guy in the sky. peace on earth lol

oh and on a side note I do think its somewhat healthy for a kid to be curious and wonder about god and heaven and all that. I know when I was growing up I thought about my actions and what I did because I was actually scared that god could see me and I might burn in hell for doing something wrong. my family never went to church or ever talked about god so it wasn't really a part of my life just an idea I guess. But eventually the belief in god went away but the morals and trying to be a good person stayed. I really do believe in karma and trying to do good.

Personally, I believe Jesus or Yeshua was a very real person back 2,000 years ago; but I also heard that (Jesus or) Yeshua was a common name back then like Joshua is today. So if thats true, then Im sure there was a Yeshua living around the year 33 or whatever.

But now the big questions: what did Yeshua say and do? I dont believe in miracles because not one miracle has ever been proven. And the Bible is full of fallacious miracles so you probably cant believe in most of the other stories in there too, but Im also sure that there has to be some facts in the Bible but I cant discern the facts from the fiction.

(But Im real and Im claiming to be Christ.)

~PEACE~

Jesus exists in my reality. He has shown me that the power of prayer is real, and that he loves every body regardless of what they have done, are doing, or will do.

Let me also add that I do not believe in any religion.

Ask Jesus for help, and be open to an answer - you might be surprised. What have you got to lose?

Historians have criteria that have to be met in order for something to be considered a Historical document. The Gospels meet those requirements and then some. Consider that the Gospels were written between 20-120 years after the death of Christ by multiple sources, and name multiple eye witnesses. Now contrast that with the fact that everything you know about Alexander the Great was written 400 years after his death and mostly form one source. Do we even ask if Alexander existed? This is not to say that Jesus is or is not the son of God, but yes, he did exist.

Not saying Jesus did not exist in the flesh, but the power of prayer?

Considering Jesus was said to have said "Greater things than these shall ye do... of myself alone I can do nothing, it is the father within that doeth the works....

These indicate that everything is within us.

Prayer is without, probably sending energy to the false light (the trickster), who will do some things that essentially set you up, so it can feed off the energy expended praying

The truth is, that no one knows for sure. You can pretend you do, but no one alive today, was alive when Jesus was supposedly alive. So to say with absolute certainty that jesus did, or didn't exist, is FUCKING RETARDED...

i thought there was some actual proof he did exist (not saying he did all that was said in bible) but that there was a man thought to be the real jesus

With absolute certainty, yes, as is anything, but with the closest degree of certainty one can achieve in this world, no

I am certain evolution is true, I'm equally as certain Jesus Christ as portrayed in the Bible and other ancient religious books never existed -that is with magic powers and such- because I'm certain magic doesn't exist, and the only way a being like Jesus Christ could have ever existed the way these books say he did is by magic

I am not certain of anything. I think it more probable based on physical evidence that evolution is true, rather than creationism. I have no evidence other than hearsay to prove the existence or non existence of a person named Jesus Christ. From which i have no physical evidence for, i can create no logical standpoint other than my own personal opinion, which of course, has no business dealing with certainties.
