Jiffy Pellets: Seed to Hyrdo

I have been reading many negative comments on the jiffy pellet as a medium for hydro.
I plant on using it with PH'ed Hydroton.

Its is all I can get my hands on.

What the truth about Jiffy pellets used in Hydro mediums?

Jiffy pelts aren't the greatest as they break down. I've used Rapid Rooters with good success for my hydro/aero setups. $10 for a bag of 50 online.

I dont know to much about the hydro game

But go here and the hydro guys will be able to answer you question for you my man

I would assume that as long as the pellet stayed dried then it shouldn't be a problem

But if it was wet then the jiffy stuff could possibly end up braking loose and get in your res .

But like i said i dont know much about hydro , just ask the hydro guys though

i have done it wit positive results a few times but i dont put the pellet in the hydro bucket, when the roots have started to come through the pellet i took off the netting tht is around the peat moss and put it in dirt for a week to allow the roots to progress a lil more and then after that weel i will wash the dirt off the roots and place it in the hydroton just like u would with a clone from an aero cloner. i have only done this a few times generally wit new seeds but it has worked for me

wouldn't I be able to just germinate in soil for the get go and eliminate the jiffy pellets all together, doing it this way??
