Jimski grow journal #2 Back to my roots

Update.
Fed larger plant 2.5 liter and week 9 foop and cal-mag plus at 3ml rate pH 6.31
Smaller plant heavy still no feed.
Plants stalled. Every cola has a tiny new calyx with fur sticking out of the very top. No new undergrowth but the mini buds keep expanding. 4 of my lower plant buds have creeped up to 3 inch runs and are full of cloudy trics.

Started work on my basement bedroom that is becoming my dedicated grow room. Getting a better sealing door and cutting some holes for duct runs. Also just remembered I will have to relocate my 30amp service I put out in the main area where tent is now. No biggy I used the runs for the old baseboard heat to pull the wire I will just reverse that task about 25 feet and pull em back out.

Been wondering why this grow seems stalled. I started counting flower at the flip but the plants did not show pistles until 10 days later. More like week 8 than 10.

Carry on plants.

Wow! Just wow! You're Journaling is top notch! You are at the finish line with a great grow. Love your notes and observations. Great upgrade as well with the tent. Let's gooooo!
Thanks man.
Told myself that the only way this becomes a learning tool for me is to write down the brutally honest assessment of what happened. No covering up leaving the cap off the PH pen or forgetting to put the duct fan back on and having to use the app as a crutch if I forget.

I made mistakes but not the same one twice. A lot of mistakes were not made by me but were already made by other growers and I got to dodge those problems. In addition the PH pen was a lesson I did not learn properly the first grow. Never should have tried to use a $39.99 pH/EC set and in hydro no lese. A very expensive mistake that was not repeated.in this grow due to the natural soil used and not needing to PH the water until flowering nutes were added.
And get this. I was going to use that pen. I was until I did a very unusual action in forgetting to recap the PH pen. I had never done this and in fact I am surprised that the OCD part of my brain was not screaming that something is different something is not where it belongs. Instead I left the cap off the pen and had to buy an expensive proper tool for the grow.
Sometimes the universe fixes stuff on its own.

Amen brother. And it shows

Update.

Fed smaller plant 1.7 liters foop at week 9 strength. Time to taper down a bit.

Still seeing random new pops on larger flowers, calyxes with small fur but no new pistles.

Smaller plant is browning up and shrinking now. Larger plant fading leaves and holding steady.

I have seen journals and active grows right now where the smaller plants crappy leaves were present but no smoke reports. The leaf issue has not made it into the flowers.

Was hoping to launch next grow by April 1 as this gets me to next harvest by vacation time.

Update.

All pots heavy
Saw some new growth on a few buds new green and white calyxes with fur. Thought we would be done with flower growth at this point. Have reduced daytime VDP to 1.6 which sets me at about 47 RH. Nighttime VDP is unfortunately dependant on house environment but has been going from daytime numbers to 45% at end of night time winding up at about 1.2 vdp. Will start using week 10 nutes next feed. Sugar amount stays high until harvest

update.

Plants holding. Tethered $20 microscope lasted about 20 times and no longer works. Used jewelers 30 power for inspection. Seeing clumps of amber trics on a few buds. Guess we will see how fast they increase. IMG_20250328_102020006_HDR.jpg

Update.
Plants in holding pattern. Lights at 58k tops.
Post heavy

Weekly numbers. Night time humidity is still a battle. Has not gone over 54% and that is a momentary peak not a steady value. Average is 48% RH and I would love to get it down to 40%
Substituting airflow for proper humidity with duct at 8. Plant has pretty much self defoled since the reduction in nutrition.

Lupe check found clumps of amber spreading. Will call it on Friday latest then hung in tent at 62% RH and heat support off. Basement averages 67-60 day and night. Light and stuff I need going to new tent.

On new tent had an idea. I am going to run the 6 inch on top as I will need the most air moving during the most heat and humidity. I am also going to hook up the 4" from the present tent at the bottom of the new tent. That way during the high heat portion of the grow I can pull from the bottom taking the coolest air out of the tent and since it is the veg portion I do not need the volume of the 6 inch like I will in flower. In addition both ends of the incoming and outgoing ducts will have the carbon filters and insect screenage that they provide on both sides.

Update
Power went out 9:07 pm. Went to hook up power tap on older escape and found wet basement rug.

Son had rented backhoe and installed 400 foot of drain tile 5 years ago and fixed the very minor wet basement but I guess it is back. Pond is very full so yes this is when it used to happen just caught me by surprise.
The power tap will not run the house heat pump. There is nothing I can do with my 2 plants 5 days before chop with a relative humidity of 78%. I will never get the RH to even 62 if I chop right now tent holds 73% at duct 10.
Prolly 200 square feet of damp carpet. Few wet boxes.
60 Degrees 73% RH vdp 2.7

Sigh......

Power on 4:47 Am. House flipped from heat to AC and back to dehumidify house. Down to 53% in basement and got tent down to 47% at 75 degrees.

Last gasp pistle growth as everything shrinks

Update
Fed both plants 1.7 / 2.5 liter foop nutes at week 9 strength. pH 6.32 no camag

Prolly going to be the last feeding. Smaller plant is about done with some flowers having colonies of amber and some just cloudy but the whole plant has receded and dried back.
Larger plant close with splotches of amber but mostly cloudy. Very few clears and not a whole lot of room to grow new ones.
No apparent damage from high humidity last night. Manipulating the house controls has dried up a lot of the carpet and room is at 50%

At this time I would ask the flight crew to crosscheck and all tray tables to the upright position. We are 4th in line for the landing pattern.

Small plant looks dead with new pistles. Browning up and colonies of amber. Due to the larger nicer and hopefully smokable plant not quite ready I am going to take the smaller plant out and put it in a freezer bag and freeze it for later hash or oil or whatever. Last night the plant dried out on the vine most of the leaves dried up and fell off.
Larger plant getting ready. Still fading. But not dying!
