Yeah, I don't know what it is about this thread or this topic, but it seems to piss people off. Pissing me off too, because this dude sounds like an idiot to me. How the fuck is DMT "natural" when you have to ingest it so that it's able to be psychoactive in your brain to a degree that you're tripping incredible balls? It's NOT natural, and, though I'm curious, I'm a bit scared to ever try it...at least until I get a little more experience with psychadelics.

You didn't understand what he was saying. DMT is produced by your pineal gland. Have you ever heard of an out of body experience, or near death experience? Your brain in producing mass ammounts of N,N-DMT and 5-meo-DMT during this time, that is what causes you to have the same experience as when you smoke DMT, like REM sleep. You seem to be misinformed.

The man show was badass before joe came i will admit that, but jimmy kimmel was already planning on leaving to start his own talk show. I think joe was on the cover of high times too. anyways definitely want to try some dmt after hearing his experience. Also read some trip reports on erowid. Sounds intense.

Yes, friend, I understood his rationale, but I think he's embellishing it a bit, don't you? DMT is also said to be found in the urine of Schizophrenics, but does this make it any more "natural" than the same form of the substance produced by the pineal glands? Obviously the guy has done a bit of research, and I commend him for it, but he is no scientist, and I wholeheartedly feel that DMT is not "natural" when ingested as a psychedelic.

The experience is not natural when you consume the plant, but people report having strong DMT experiences without consuming anything.

I just don't think an endogenic DMT experience is the same animal as a DMT experience resulting from ingesting/smoking a plant/substance. That's the problem I have with Rogan's contention.
I also might add, that all we know about this substance/endogen known as DMT and its derivatives is specualtion, especially regarding its psychological functions. All information we have on this drug must be taken with a grain of salt, pun intended.

Everyone please calm down man, this is nothing to fight over. Every1 has their opinions about Joe Rogan but I dont really know that much about him and I dont got a problem with him. Anyways I heard the experience and it sounds like some pretty nice shit. If u listened Joe was trying to be serious about it but every1 else was laughing even when he wasnt, maybe he should have talked about it in a more quiet place so he could be more serious about it.

o.k., so posterity, I think I should post what I found on 5-MeO-DMT. I read some PIHKAL entries on both of them. That substance is totally different from the DMT Joe Rogan probably took. The differences in the substance vary greatly in dose and effect on the brain. Can't wait till I get some money-buying chemicals in bulk gets expensive. Think I'm also gonna get some MethylOne. I love the idea of "Ecstasy without the 'crash.'"
