man if i could find me a good job on a ranch that would take me cuse im hurt i would be there. my last job i had 23 horses to break by myself and i had 15 of them riding in a month i spent every day either in the round pen or puting open miles on them i love that work more than anything. and i miss working with hogs also the ranch i grew up on had a dairy farm a hog farm and a cattle operation with about 100 horses and a brood mare herd of about 30 i miss it every day.
My body can no longer take it, but for me as well, my gift was working with horses. Just always had a feel for 'em (except for a QH mare a friend of mine has, that mare is a fucking CUNT bitch-ass bitch mare, she's the most soured horse I've seen that's not a rental. That horse once bit her squarely in the stomach and pulled, always has her ears laid back, just nasty).

I raised the pigs for 4H, so not many at a time, but they sure were fun. And tasty, too!

When I was a kid I dreamed of living on a farm in the middle of nowhere, with no one around for miles and miles. I no longer dream of having all those animals, I've mucked my share of corrals, thank you very much, but I still want to live in the middle of nowhere. Somewhere tropical would be idea, but mountains work alright, too. As long as I'm not snowed in.

Let your arm heal up and you'll be good to go. :) Good thing it's a broken bone and not a torn ligament, torn ligs take forever to heal and hurt like hell. Can you believe I've been kicked square in the thigh standing about 3' back from the horse and my leg didn't break? I am amazed I've broken nothing at all. Of course, we anesthetized our colts BEFORE we gelded them.

These are some great stories thank you guys. It does make me feel better hearing your stories, but so far I'm not really hearing anything quite sad enough to make me say "Damn, I'm so lucky I'm not THAT guy".

And I know there has to be more moochers and lifelong deadbeats. Don't be shy, own up to it and be proud you are being all the deadbeat you can be.

I want to hear about your wives leaving you, your child support being raised for kids who won't talk to you, your dog being run over and having only two legs so you have to wheelbarrow him outside to take a shit. Being so ugly that they won't even give you a job at mcdonalds mopping the floor.

It's not fair to bash on union workers they are workers like the rest of us not fat ass executives. It's just that they make an actual wage that lets them raise a family without two incomes like it really should be. A real living wage. Yes there are fat lazy slob union worker too, but that's kind of rare for anyone to find any job where you don't have to work.

I don't know if they even get bonuses at all but if they do they're not the million dollar plus guys who mismanaged things into the ground.

Joblessness is happiness except for money. You end up stuck at home because you don't have money to do shit and then really end up having to work just as hard anyway simply to keep yourself from going insane from boredom.

I am having a hard time with that boredom part.

This has been a bad year for me too. Since moving out of Florida back to the Midwest. I've not been able to keep work longer than 6 weeks. I'm over budget on my grow room now and Not sure when I'll be able to finish it right. I'm not even going to our christmas thing tomorrow. I'm the only one in the family who hasn't done anything in their life yet. It sucks.

You sound real down man. Is the xmas thing too far away to go or not going cause you're not doing things with your life yet so don't want to see happier people?

If it's close and you can go think about doing it anyway, eveyone has time in their life like you and it's really no big deal regardless of reason. Don't sweat not having gifts and stuff if that's it either, it's never about that and nobody will care. Doesn't matter if you're 40 and not doing anything, you won't get another chance at life so enjoy what you can as much as you can regardless of that other stuff.

Hey flam, why u aint goin to the xmas thing? It's not that it would make u urself happy, but at the same time, ur family and whatnot i'm sure wann see u regardless of what u hav done in life. Just my opinion. I mean, hell I'm 26, live at home, where both my parents have died(ya they died HERE), gotta 17 yo sis, (god knows how those girls can be), gotta carpet layin job that was alright for a bit, but now it's like damn. Work is gettin harder and harder to come by these days, bills are stackin up.... not to mention my girls got cancer and i aint heard from her in weeks, fuck i hope she's even alive (FUCKING SERIOUSLY) but still, it's like the harder life pushes u man, u gotta just push back even harder and say fuck, this aint that bad ya know. Really hope u cheer up bro, and hopefully I aint the only one sayin merry christmas to ya.

I had an extension on my govt check but have been fighting getting it off and on for 6 months. It's granted 9 K But I actually love to work so they fuck with me about the check, then I find work, and then I'm off again, and they fuck with me again with the check etc....
We lsot my brother back in 96. Xmas holidays have kind of sucked since then. I never enjoyed them even before then. I'm the only single one left. Everyone is successful has careers, kids and all that stuff. I just feel like the outcast. Ya it's close by. i jsut don't know if I want to be there or not. I did get my sisters kids some gifts though which I took over to my parents house earlier today. I was married to a jewish woman. Was going through the process of converting so that has kind of interfered. We had our own special xmas down there in Florida last year. (and hanukah of course). It just been a shitty year. Looking forward to the new year to start. I don't have any resolutions, just ready to kiss the sun again. Thanks all for the kind thoughts. I'm packing a bowl right now. Wishing you guys were here to hit it too.

You can't measure success by what you have. I was out of work for a year
when I was younger. I lived off egg sandwiches for months. could barely pay my rent. Ever make a fucking pancake with just water and flour? and try and eat it? (I did have maple syurp) but it taste bad.....
Theres allways someone worse off. When you've hit rock bottom theres only one place to go, and thats up.

Job? ppfffffft.

Jobs are for people who arent lazy. When I get up to go to work, I go into the other room and work in my garden.

It doesnt matter what happens to the economy, the prices for Good chronic only go up.

And if Im ever in a pinch to sell a pound or two, I can go down to the local Compassion Club here in BC, they have a court order to be able to buy High grade product off of any illegal grower. They try not to buy more then 1 or 2 so more people can sell their product, which just means is almost a guaranteed check if I need it.

Money Does grow on trees ;-)

:peace:
