Journal #1 : SAGE, Skunk Amsterdam & Blue Widow - End of Veg and into Flower
First Journal and First Grow (any comments and tips are welcome)
3 Strains in a 4X8 Secret Jardin DR240W
Started with 4 but the Sour Cream went rotten and ended up as a Straight Male :( Fucking asshole , at least it was a freebie
2 solid months Veg time in Roots organics Gnat infused soil filling 3 gallon pots (which really should be 5 gallon but live and learn)
Feeding with General Organics (which I am only using cause I was given a Go Box for free and a 50% discount on gallons but not too thrilled with it)
Also using Roots excellerator and Super Bat Tea (grow) and Budswell and SOS beneficial bacteria and organism XL + extreme gardening micos and molasses and silica blast and Sweet Raw.

CO2 supplementation using a CAP regulator (started with a "active Aire" regulator and learned the hard way you pay less you get what you pay for cause that fucking piece of shit never held its settings. which apparently is well known even to the fuck tards at Greners.com who sold it to me and then gave me a month long run around in a failed attempt to get it returned.... however thankfully when I was at my local hydro shop the hydrofarm sales rep happened to be there when I mentioned it to the owner and he hooked me up with a paid return box and a store credit to get the CAP reg... Props to that dude! talk about above and beyond expectations. So Fuck active Aire and Fuck greners lol
but back to the details on the CO2
I use a tent in a 10x10 room so rather than setting up a timed vent system and since I have my veg area in the same room and clones too I keep the whole room at around 1500 ppm CO2. The tent is kept under positive pressure with a filtered 4inch inline so the CO2 starts in the tent but is dispursed through a duct along with any heat at the ceiling ports as well as the seams etc.
My CO2 settings using the cap are .5 Cubic ft starting with 1hr 15 min on at lights on and then 15 min on at the top of every hour.
Light is a 1000watt Micromole ballast with digilux bulbs (talk about color shift through out the light son) in a 8inch raptor hood which is cooled with a 8 inch vortex and carbon filter (scrubbing the air outside the tent). Hood was on rope ratchets but I had to use a shackle and clip to hook direct to the roof to get a few extra inches.
inside the tent has a 6inch inline with Carbon filter to scrub taking the air from the floor and mixing it straight to the ceiling.
Also circulating the air with a oscillating stand fan and 2 clip fans.
Whole room is cooled with a 10,000 btu window ac.
Veg went ok though I had some nute burn and cal mag issues early on which stunted the skunk and sage but that is what I get as a newbie taking on 3 strains that want different feedings. as a result I had to supercrop the blue widow (twice) which turned out the be a blessing cause of all the tops that poped up!
The sage is still at least 8 inches smaller as the runt of the bunch but doing ok none the less.
I always thought you had to wait at least a week to see bud growth but at the end of week one it was there and at the end of week two I am loving what I see.
Temps inside the tent range from 82F max to 73 min RH between 45 & 60%
Had some sort of bug in my tent (aside from roots special gnat ingredient) which as of yet I have not figured out what it was but some of the strangest egg I ever saw for sure.

Pics so far:

Set up- btw the cardboard tube attached to the pole with a vine clip keeps the walls away from the buds when the flaps are open, Ghetto yes perhaps but more importantly effective.

Strange bug eggs ?- ever see anything like this , shit is like a munchkin donut . no sign of live bugs anywhere aside from gnats which lay eggs in soil , strange.

Week 1 flower:

P8060103.jpg
Skunk back left, Blue widow Front, SAGE in the back right
BW was moved to take advantage of the super crop and light spread (which it liked so much a few days after these pics each had to be croped again! and tied down!)
P8060117.jpgP8060116.jpgP8060115.jpgP8060114.jpgP8060110.jpgP8060109.jpgP8060108.jpgP8060107.jpgP8060105.jpgP8060104.jpgP8060118.jpg

stage 1 of lollie poping (nice and healthy stalks from what I know)
P8060112.jpgP8060111.jpgP8060113.jpg

Week 2:
Looking awesome as far as I am concerned lol I am fucking loving this shit, why did I wait so long to do this I have no clue!
Head room is getting tight , 40 inches tall from the soil and about 13 inches to the light

P8120106.jpgP8120127.jpgP8120128.jpgP8120129.jpgP8120130.jpgP8120131.jpgP8120133.jpgP8120134.jpgP8120135.jpgP8120136.jpgP8120137.jpgP8120141.jpgP8120123.jpgP8120122.jpgP8120105.jpgP8120103.jpgP8120107.jpgP8120109.jpgP8120111.jpgP8120112.jpgP8120113.jpgP8120114.jpgP8120115.jpgP8120120.jpgP8120121.jpgP8120142.jpg

to add to the fun of having to super crop twice I realized I had to do more to keep the BW in line so I said bitch stay down and clipped above the crop with a vine clip and twisty tied her down to the rim
1st super crop
P8120139.jpg
2nd crop with vine clip to keep her down
P8120138.jpg

I really like how the cropping worked out, low in the one side and high in the sides and back so light is really getting in and letting everything shoot up!

stage 2 of lollie pop
taking it up a little higher based on lack of growth and visual look of the leaves and lack of bud sites. Also thinned up top a little.

week 3 soon to come....

Nice thread bro, I've got a couple of BW in their infancy so I'm subbed. Just learning about super cropping here myself, gonna SC my next grow. Your plants look great man, best of luck on your grow!

week 3 done
Had a few changes in the garden this last week but the biggest being I decided to make a last minute transplant. This may be my first grow but I can say they were not happy in those 3 gallon pots. I just let them get too big.
P8180114.jpgP8180115.jpg

Other little change was to start throwing in some stakes for later support as well as some twisty ties and vine clips in the center to make sure there is no chance of massive splits from the main stem.

I'm really hopeful the transplant will curb some of the issues the skunk plant is having and it does seem to be doing a bit better but more so I had been making a big mistake for a few weeks and that was of all things Ph'ing the nutrients. I took the advice of a grower I respect the opinion of which was to always no matter organic or not even if the manufacture says not to which made sense to me but he never used General organics I think and that is what they say to do (or not do that is).
When my water comes out the tap it is within a few points of 7 every time. After a going through a kdf and 3 stage RO and adding nutrients it is always 5.5 5.6. It really takes a insanely large amount of ph up to bring that up into into the range of 6's for soil. I really think in doing so it caused some lock out issues which after flushing a bit and not ph'ing seemed to subside. Now just a few days after going into bigger pots they are looking even better.

The skunk amsterdam plant, last pics showing it's rougher hurting side
P8180107.jpgP8180110.jpgP8180123.jpgP8180127.jpg

The blue widow which is really got some nice resin glands starting up
P8180125.jpgP8180122.jpgP8180121.jpgP8180118.jpgP8180117.jpgP8180116.jpgP8180112.jpgP8180111.jpgP8180126.jpg

And the SAGE
P8180113.jpgP8180119.jpgP8180120.jpgP8180124.jpgP8180128.jpg

and once again week 4 soon to come.

So my room had a little bit of an upgrade this week, I went from vegging in a 2ft by 7ft closet which was a tight squeeze to get to cause of the tent and an even tighter squeeze to get all my plants in to and since I did not want to buy another tent or hang the t5's from the ceiling I built my own light hanging system from PVC....
P8260137.jpgP8260138.jpgP8260139.jpg
It's about 5ft by 4ft set up to hold my 8 tube and 4 tube t5s and have them adjusted at separate heights as well as hang the 4 bulb as side lighting if vegging larger plants down the road.
The table is from home depot it's actually a storage shelf they sell but split in two equal parts. it's a nice cheaper alternative to those wire rack shelves a lot of people use, not only are they a bit bigger but the are wider and can be split into 5 separate tables. Plus they are cheaper too.
It's nice to be able to put stuff in the closet again and another cool part about those shelf/tables is the extra storage under it.

They are looking so much better this week, though the skunk still looks a little ragged. The buds are looking awesome though. And I figured out how to adjust the setting on my camera so with the addition of shooting through a pair of Lumii glasses it comes out so much better.

It's such a shame the skunk amsterdam plant is so damn finicky it doesn't really like anything i do for it, it's got such a nice smell too but I think after this plant I'm moving on to something new to try.
ONly one pic of it this week, I accidentally deleted the others.

Next up, the Blue Widow. I love this plant, I guess why I seem to take more pics of it lol
the smell coming off it is like a lemon lime I have never smelled before. makes my mouth water when I give it a good close sniff :weed:

P8260033.jpgP8260034.jpgP8260035.jpgP8260036.jpgP8260037.jpg

the SAGE seems to be a bit behind the other two in crystal production but I think it will catch up, it if you look back at the other pics of it the stretch it's gone through the last few weeks has been pretty good since it was the runt.

P8260041.jpgP8260042.jpgP8260043.jpg

and some close ups of them all... sorry about the slight yellowish to it I forgot to put the glasses over the lens but it is way better than before
P8260052.jpgP8260058.jpgP8260057.jpgP8260056.jpgP8260055.jpgP8260054.jpgP8260053.jpgP8260051.jpgP8260059.jpg
