I hope I'm posting in the right place I'm new to rollitup and to growing in general . So here's the deal I have 4 seedlings that are 4 days old I germinated them in rockwool with just ph 5.5 water . When they sprouted I put them in my dwc/bubbleponics with just water ph 5.5, temp stays 72-79 and humidity around 40% . I noticed a mildew smell like a wet towel smell yesterday coming from the rockwool and it's still there today should I worry ?? And if so what should I do ??

Right section IMO, but if ya don't get any answers by morning, try the 'plant problem' section.
Sorry I can't help, but I'm a soil guy.;-)

The wet towel smell could be mildew or other things. Mind posting a picture of your setup?

May as we'll go ahead and tell you about res temps. They seriously need to be at 70 or below. I've made every mistake possible in DWC and have learned that if you can't keep your res temps in check then you might as we'll grow in passive hydro or dirt. I had none of the issues in hempy that I had in DWC, but unfortunately I am stubborn as hell. I wasn't satisfied with myself unless I mastered DWC.

Reservoir temperatures are easy to control. You put the reservoir outside of your growing area and you get a bubbler that sucks in air fron the outside cold air. Improvise to get outside cold air to your reservoir.

Yea that would be ideal, but like Malevolence said it's not exactly doable for every situation. This would be practically impossible for me to accomplish given space constraints, though I would love to.

I will have to figure something out about the res temp soon:-? it was almost 80 I just changed the reservoir and purchased a good digital thermometer it's 62 right now is that to low ? What is ideal temp ? Maybe I can put my reservoir in a larger shallower container and when temps get to high I can fill out side container with ice water and when ideal temp is reached pump out the water . Any thoughts ?

Yea 80 degrees is inviting disaster. When you changed the water had it began to get cloudy and a bit of funky odor? Also is the source of the high temps your lights or environment? I was able to reduce my res temps by a easy 5 degrees when I purchased my first cooltube. I also increased the amount of fresh air entering my grow with a duct booster.

Ideal res temp is 68f. My 5gal DWC buckets get to the low 60s on a daily basis without any harm done. I read somewhere that when you get into the 50's is when problems start to arise, but don't take my word for it. I've never been lucky enough to have low temperature problems.

Your outside container idea is one that is well used by many growers who are dead set on DWC and it does work. Problem is that the ice melts and you have to replenish it frequently. I tried the water bottle in the res method, but I found I was spending way too much time changing out the melted bottles.

So you have no way to get outside air? Do you live in a concrete bunker or something? Not to be mean but use your head. You could drill a 1/4 inch line through your window seal and run the line. Improvise, look at your surroundings and come up with something. Every single room has possibilities. Do you have air ducting? again that pulls from the outside.

Your suggestion is not practical for all floor plans or where stealth is concerned.

You want to bet on that? Stealth? Have you ever heard of placing a blanket over the reservoir or something that makes it look like a nightstand(think). All things can be stealth.

and what, hear water splashing around under the blanket? not for me, my shit has to be behind a locked door.

Also would look a little fucked up to have 1/4" tubing and air duct running through my apartment.

Air isn't my problem. It's having a external res. I don't have the space for it.
