just a quick question on lighting...

I plan on trying my next grow with a waterfarm. I will be growing just 1 plant in a 24x24x60 grow tent. I will be scrogging her. I have a 150watt hps with built in ballast. I was wanting to know what would be better to use. I was thinking of buying another 150watt hps, like the one I already have. And using both in my tent or would it be better to buy a 250watt hps/mh light?

150w is a little low and I think many will agree. Its not that it wont work you can just do better with more wattage. The way I started mine was with CFL s and then I went straight to 1000w MH and I couldnt be happier. My local Hydro shop hooked me up with a package deal on light, hood and ballast for $200 and its good stuff. I looked at the project with the idea of what was the most important to me this being light which is the most expensive part. Then I looked at nutes and so on. Do your research read and watch as many videos as you can carefully weeding (lol) out the bs from the legit stuff. And dont feel shy ask as many questions as you have. We all were green at one point. Hope this helps.

minimum 600 watt. learn that you lose a lot of light more than 1 foot away from the lamp. A 600 watt pushing 80,000 lumens will provide 20,000 watts two feet away. You need this - as plants need 10,000 lumens min to flower nicely. I grow 2 sativa plants under 2 - 600 watt aircooled. 10 gallon pots, and I get 6- 8 ounces per plant. My room is about 12'x9x8tall. it has 2 600 watt lamps in aircooled setup, rigid ductwork.

well I used a single 150 watt hps with built in ballast on my last closet grow. I had 1 plat that was grown with a scrog grow. I got almost 2ozs from her. So I am trying a single plant waterfarm grow this time. I will be using just the single 150watt hps again. I just was wanting know since my tent will only be 24x24x60. If I should use 2 150watt hps lights or just buy a 250watt light for that size of tent. What would give me better light coverage?

I think you will get better coverage with two but also use more electricity. I agree with digital though at 600w being minimum also the more light to the buds the more buds you'll get. A 600w will cover a 4x4 area great even though you are 2x2 it gives you room to upgrade later.

how about instead of 2 150w ballast, just get one 600 watt. I bet if you did it right you could get 5 ounces from one plant. I frequently get (over 2 years now) 6- 8 ounces per plant. For all the time and energy you spend at this, you should be getting better yields. I have seen people grow 10 plants and 'almost 2 ounces' each, but I beat them every time with 2 plants, less trouble (overcrowding is not your friend) .

get either a 600 or 400 dimmable that way when you go larger your already set, and by being dimmable you control how much light you need
