New problems frustrate the president...he can't blame any of them on Bush (yet).

This week:

-Mr. President holds a news conference where he takes questions...for the first time in a year! Transparency in action. :roll:

I feel for him though. Without his teleprompters he's intellectually naked.

-Mr. President travels to the gulf coast to fondle tar balls from the nearly hopeless ruined oil well Deepwater Horizon. "The media may get tired of the story, but we will not," he said. Nice try at misdirection Mr President! We all know what story you want the media to get tired of and it isn't this one! (To be fair there isn't much he can really do except throw money and people at the problem. BP has the best of the best already trying everything but nukes to close the hole)

-Mr. President has a new bitch who goes by the name Bill Clinton. Apparently Billy was asked to holla at Joe Sestak and offer him a "job" in the White House in exchange for him dropping his challenge against Arlen Specter (who wisely changed parties just last year to ensure his re-election! LMAO). If there was a crime committed someone else will be the fall guy though. If there wasn't any crime the public will still have a bad taste in their mouth from this scandal.

Only problem is... none of this shit is partisan, and you seem to be blaming everything entirely on Obama (and the left). These problems were here when we had a Republican in office, and they'll still be here after this puppets gone.

I'm not sure what problems you are referencing. All 3 points in my OP are specific to the current presidency.

In general I agree with you. Most problems are with us beyond any 4 year term. Our government can't do anything in a reasonable amount of time.

I wasn't criticizing his use of teleprompters at all! (The use of teleprompters is logical when reading speeches.) I was pointing out that he hasn't had a news conference where he took questions for more than 12 months. He has a hard time saying anything when it isn't prepared.

In any case I won't insult you because I don't agree with you. (You don't know me. How can you say " ...Obama is 100 times more well-spoken and intelligent than you"? Let's keep it civil and leave the insults out of it.)

Yeah for the bullet points of the tv 'news' bulletins. All this crap is just regurgitated garbage.

I do love that somehow him being on tv too much, is not morphing into him not doing enough q&a's sessions for the media (notice how it is only mentioning press conference, and not questions in general).

I love how everything that gets pulled out at Obama is so scandalous, when in reality it goes on all the time.

it's all bullshit - 50-75% of the politicians in Congress are self-serving and performing contrary to their pledge, the right-wing media outlets lie outright or use an insane format (beck and limbaugh), large global corporations are too large and unregulated, many of our citizens are uneducated and will subscribe to any hate-mongering celebrity because it is hate and anger they understand, the economy - the world economy - is precariously close to the edge of collapse, we are involved in expensive wars we don't need to be fighting, the climate is changing for the worse, oil is depleted and expensive and can only get worse, infrastructure is deteriorating, and now we have oil all over the place. Yea, sure, it's all obama's fault. keep drink'n the kool aid.

A columnist from the "rabid liberal institution" known as the Huffington post wrote a great article about your third point making clear what Emanuel did was illegal.

Although this has been done by most every president before him, a back room deal like this certainly does not help the case for the change Obama promised to bring to Washington

at first i thought this post was pointless, kinda summarizing the news of the week but very vague in it's "consciseness"...

point # 1: It's not the president's job to stand in front of cameras and news reporters engaging in Q and A sessions full of loaded questions, with sleazy reporters looking to embarrass anyone they can to get their big break. that's white house press secretary Robert Gibb's job. The truth is that the president doesn't go into Q and A sessions every day because that's not his job. His job is to be in meetings deciding the fate of the country.

Point # 2: There's nothing the prez can do. it's a mile under water. If i'm not mistaken approx 100-200 people have ever EVER EVER in the history of the world gone down to that depth in the ocean and come back up alive. BP is possibly the only company that can plug this thing. on a side note: It's a matter of prevention vs. treatment. The treatment's not there. we do not have the technology in place to contain major oil spills at sea. Picking up birds and washing them with dish soap and toothbrushes looks good on camera. that's about it. if we can't clean up a mess, we shouldn't risk making it.

Point #3: Politics as usual. This law is intended for bribes. Like when you get a brand new Bentley for a blow job (hypothetical situation). I'm sure when he said YES to that question almost the entire top echelon of the democratic party turned ghost white, including obama...

How is any different then the way the left blamed Bush for everything that happened during his term whether he was really responsible or not? Obama wanted to be President, and that means taking the blame for anything that happens while he is in office. The guy gives a good speech, but when it comes down to actually leading the country and taking responsiblity he isn't cutting it. Don't get me wrong- I'm not saying Bush was some sort of fantastic President, just that Obama isn't any better (and may turn out to be worse in the long run).

of course it's no different. after listening to the left bitch and moan that everything from global warming to castro's hangnails was bush's fault, it's rather fun to listen to brak's apologists complain about this reversal of roles. suddenly it's perfectly all right for the man who campaigned on transparency and post-partisan/racial politics to engage in business as usual political games. now it's a sign of strength for the white house to dabble in the incompetence and corruption that the last administration was pilloried for.

Thanks for putting some thought into that.

#1: I know Q&A isn't his job, but he should be willing to hande more than one a year. Not every day...just a little more often.

#2: Correct. There's nothing he can do (I said something to that effect in OP), but to show up, look at tar balls and then say "We're going to make everyone whole who has suffered" is utter bullshit. He can't stop the leak and he can't make anyone whole. Period.

#3: His great ideals he campaigned on are now out the window eh? ("no more bussiness as usual when I'm the president!")

if you want to get specific with the oil crisis, you can blame bush, not obama. it cheeeeeeney who staffed mms. it was mms that went to work for the oil companies. another fine example of the real bush regime.

when all else fails, blame bush. after a year and a half of a democrat controlled congress and white house, more than enough time to see to any staffing discrepancies, we are still hearing this mantra of the obama apologists. anything that goes wrong brings this knee-jerk reaction in defense of the anointed one and his minions. instead of protecting the american people and listening to their input, a cornerstone of brak's campaign, we have been treated to some of the worst legislation seen in recent history. instead of seeing to the duties of one of the world's most all-encompassing jobs, this fool has spent his time pushing an agenda designed to emasculate american business and the liberties of the individual. the excuses are wearing thin and the scapegoat won't last forever. at some point we will all have to admit the ineptitude of this administration.

Oh god, you all need to get over the whole 'all you do is blame bush'. Some shit takes time to come out. This would likely have happened no matter who was president, or which rules were in place, they cannot do everything and have eyes everywhere. If BP/who ever else was cutting corners at the bottom of the ocean, that is not anyones fault.
