My well water PH came out to 8.3, will that be a problem for my outdoor grow??? Once i mix Maxsea and calmag it drops to the 7s , ad they seem to like it. But been watering with purified water in between feedings. I want to start watering them with my well water now but like I said it measures 8.3. Dont know if that will be a big prob. Will it??

it sounds high, but if the plants are ok with it, I would continue using it.
I havent watered them with that water alone yet , only when mixed with maxsea, which brings the ph down to 7. Ive been watering them with purified water in-between feedings. If I leave the water for a day like in a reservoir, will that raise or lower the PH?

my waters Ph 8+ too, the plants are incredably adaptable so dont worry, neuts alter the Ph when you add to the water, i use just water till they need feed then add to the water it might not be perfect conditions but they are tough little sods

Yea I was fearing that, I was hoping to water them with the hose which is a lot easier but i guess i wont b able to. Do you think a 175g reservoir be enough to water 12-14 plants in 65g pots? About how many plants will one of those blue 55 gallons jugs will water?

Youre right, everyones climate/plants/containers in their grow spots are different which means watering routines are different as well......ill try watering them with the well water and see if it gives me any probs. At least if it does, its still early in the season.

depending on location you should get the minerals + micro stuff from the well water too.....free
taste improver?? too.
Enjoy
I never really considered that aspect of well water. When they dug my well there must have been one hell of a mineral deposit somewhere underground, as the deer tore the ground up around where the dirt from the well had been dug was piled up initally.

lots of trace elements that are hard to get to for the deer, cattle salt licks attract deer too (hunting tip),
most neuts and soluble minerals "sink" in the ground, one of the reasons plants have deep roots like a tap root goes way down
but deer love well dig, you'll find loads of wildlife scabeling around it at night

My well water is 8.0 and never an issue. I never add Cal-mag to my ferts, the well water supplies that.
I think you'll be fine @mr.bernit. If worried water half with purified, half with well for a month and see if there is a difference.
