My new girl is only 1 week old
i get 2nd pick on march 23 and get to take her home like a month later.
Lenny is bad ass don’t get me wrong. His pedigee is straight up show dog. But this breeder, all straight from africa ridgebacks. This little girl will prob be bigger than Lenny and Lenny is just shy of 95lbs(last time I had him weighed) he’s prob about 105ish now.
Only thing is she insists i neuter Lenny, scheduled for Mar 28. And contract is i spay the little girl within 1 yr.
it’s like most breeds nowadays, they are bread to AKC standards. Like the Bordeaux mastiff, which in case you didn’t know i know that breed pretty well too. In that deal, the AkC standard is Hooch from turner and hooch. A very newly recognized AKC breed though.
The standard for Ridgebacks = Lenny. My little girl will prob be bigger boned and weigh more than Lenny. Straight from africa. Pretty much. So cool

My Boerboel's mother is from SA & his dad is a show winner - has show credentials - hope to breed him someday to continue his linage.

Dude i just cant do mastiff anymore. Even though the ridgeback has mastiff in them. I cant bro.
My last ridgeback only made it to 11 and that was prob because of the mastiff in the breed. And 11 is old for a ridgeback. I just can’t do a 8yr breed again.
Rex made it to 10.5 though
his sister passed on me right before she turned 8. And 1 month from the fire. I’m still pissed

My original plan was to stud Lenny out to get pick of litter. Lenny won’t have nuts in a month now lol.
