Just dropped $550 at the local hydro store...

Looks like a great buy man! Yeah you can find cheaper prices for things but whats a few hundred bucks really when it comes to growing meds.

You said you have a 3x4, I just ran a 1000w hps soil in a 3x3 and I cropped 19oz, so with the extra 4ft^2 you should definitely be able to out yield that.

Didgital ballast is the way to go, you will get 30% +/-5% light off the same wattage running with a didgital, you also get lots of options and they run considerably cooler.

Looks like a sick setup dawg.

Also hydro is easy if u get a water chiller and run compost teas. Maxigrow and Maxibloom are 1 part formulas that are cheap as hell and seem to make incredible results.

Compost teas are easy to make, they introduce massive amounts of benificial microbes to your roots aiding your plants nutrient uptake and making too much competition for pathogens to take hold, i've yet to see anybody have problems using compost teas and i've seen countless problems solved by introducing them!

You guys are awesome.

Here are some pictures of the bud sites I just took. Wow, 19 oz? I can smoke all I want!

Also speaking of a res chilling I found this video
about setting up a RDWC from my DWC bins. I'll be making the conversion after this grow finishes.

Any tips on converting my setup? Videos, etc?

I've got a 3x3 100% organic and a 5x5 RDWC, just look up like the $1200 RDWC setups they sell online and then make your own for like $300 hah. That doesnt include a TDS/PH monitor or water chiller, but neither do their $1200 4 site RDWCs :D

With microbes you can maybe get away without a chiller; in fact you probably can. I just havent tried it.

Looks like a solid 2 site setup.

People successfully run DWC two ways:

-sterile: By adding H2o2
-or microbes: Compost teas, microbe innoculants (i use both).

I love my organic soil which runs off microbes, and i like my hydro to have organic aspects. With microbes you get the freedom to add things that might goof up or be ineffective in a sterile environment, plant extracts, kelp, things with organic matter in them. IMO its the way to go, but i'm sure theres some decent arguments for sterile out there.

I love my microbes tho hah, i feel its the best way to keep everything clean. I got a lot of my customers on microbes for their hydro when i worked at a hydro shop with 100% incredible feedback, i probably taught 80 people how to make and use compost teas in their hydro and soil hah.

MICROBES.

I've been doing 1 oz of hydrogen peroxide every 4 days or so. Pretty white roots so far.
H2o2 is a great way to learn, but imo next grow try out some microbes :D

General Hydroponics Ancient Forest compost + Molassas and bubble it for 2 days and then scoop some into your res is all you need.

The Ancient Forest has over 35,000 species of benifical microbes, its forest compost from alaska (volcanic dust + composted forest matter + microbes)

It will probably be cheaper than H2o2 as well.

Earthworm castings work well too, worms don't have stomach acid they do all of their digestion with bacteria so their shit is full of benificial bacteria. The microbes eat the molasses and multiply to incredible levels

I really appreciate all the write up, I'm looking into the GH right now.

I'm honestly not a big fan of GH in general, but Ancient forest is one of my favorite products. Also GH does have a few very well priced and good products. I'm far from a GH fanboy hah.

But i do like their ancient forest; if I could get it from another company even if I had to pay 3x more I would XD
