The technique is called "Air Layering". FYI

VVV --- Apparently someone already said that.

Trying this tonight got a 5 month old rocklock mother been supplying me with clones for my SOG operation. Anyways shes bout 5 feet tall very healthy. Tried this on 20 branches ranging from 12"-18". If this work and i will incorporate it into my SOG operation hopefully triple yield increases!? :-D Il keep you all informed.

looks pretty cool to me, world this work on an orange tree?
shit people just come on this forum and post i dont think anyone actually reads what goes on in these topics ^^
but yes for like 2 pages they talked about oranges
Well i guess i learned something new today, asprin and willow bark to clone. Ill store that in my steel trap for growing information. :D

Don't get me wrong, that is sort of cool, but what is the point?? I cut mine, put in plain water, scratch the bottom angled cut about one inch up, dip put in cloner and in less that 8 days I have perfect results.. So why do it on the plant? Maybe if you want to share a clone with a buddy and are not at that grow stage or your cloner is full and want to not take one from there to give but see no real reason to do it that way... Other reasons let me know?? Still cool though...

:weed: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RkNN6Ar5pYo I stumbled across this video while trying to learn how to clone maple trees. pretty cooooool

The point is, there does not need to be a point really. This method is designed for cloning trees, as the "cut, soak, dip, plant" technique will not work with any reliable result. It is just another technique that will work with cannabis is all.

Maple saplings and potplants trunks(approx2" thick) both look similar and the bark is similar. This is why we use a #2 rooting agent for cloning. Semi-hardwood.

well some legal growers are only allowed a certain number of plants. with this method they could have a bunch of clones rooted without them being considered a seperate plant.

And you wouldnt need a dome or extra lights so i can save you space..But keeping the plant/clone number down is a good advantage IMO

Air layering is anything but new, not to growers who know a bit of botanical info anyway. I started a thread about it about around a year and a half ago and it didn't get much attention, a fair number of views but only a handful of replies. It seemed too radical for most.

It has been used for ages to clone hard to clone trees and bushes but it works equally well for cannabis.

In the wild, as I mentioned in another thread on the same subject I mentioned how potplants will send out vine like runners from the hedge to do this naturally.

My cloning bin is a shelf about 2/3'rds the way up the wall and it's in the motheroom. It takes up no space at all and the (cool white) flouresent contributes to the moms as well. I can put 40 or 50 clones in the bin. I really wouldn't want to be dealing with 40 or 50 of these things hanging off my moms. All of my clones do well. I cut my shoots about one foot long and I snip them about 3/8" of an inch above the next shoot. I use 400w mercury vapor bulbs to get the shoots to grow more rapidly. There can be a lot more to it but I'll stop here. You'll have to decide for yourself whats practical and what's just a hobby.

well been bout 36 hours and all 20 branches are doing dam good 2 wilted slightly but stood back up within a few hours. Main reason im trying this is because i run a SOG so i go clone to flower. Been doing good so far bout 1.8-2.2 pounds every 3 weeks dried cured bud with 24-30 plants per cycle. But the clone i can cut so they root with no wilting or yellowing have to be under 9" or take for every to root. With this way im attempting to root 18" clones which will hopefully dbl my yield if they root of course :-D Also since there a non stop nutrient uptake the leafs never yellow cuz once they pop root they got food. So far it look like its gonna be some perfect clones Il keep you all updated.

Yeah - this is a cool method. For big clones it's really cool, but if you want to make like 5-15 clones of the plant it would probably be a mess. This method can be used on almost any plant and is very effective since you don't reconnect the clone from the energy sourse.
Anyways - thanks for posting the method - tried it and it works like a charm.

I did 20 within 25min's and wasn't messy or hard at all. And this is on a 4 month old rocklock mother which has given me a significant amount of clones already so shes pretty thick. I got a Og Kush #18 where im gonna do 25 on today.
