Just got new lights need help please

Just got my 3 150 watt HPS lights from ecnolight how far from the top of the plant should it be ? heres how i got it now

6" or 8" to be safe to start, but using it vertically is a bad idea since most of the light comes off horizontally and just mounting vertically alone cuts HID bulbs output even further.

Hardly any light comes off the end of the bulb. Compare holding your hand under the end and then off to the side, see how much brighter off to the side is...

Also don't trap that heat in with foil, it's just for cooking turkeys and stuff.

im trying to figuer out how to mount them that way, I have 20 other plants ready to go into flowering ill have 3 of those lights total I need to figure out how to mount them horizontally. im thinking i can lower them into like the middle of the plants i dunno fuck i thought these lights would be money :(

they ARE money. search around for the 150watt HPS inspirational thread, it shows different ways of setting the light up properly.
