Just starting my very first grow! Need lots of help, ideas, and tips please!

I just started my first grow, EVER! I germinated one Afghan Kush seed and one Alaskan Thunder Fuck (ATF) seed for three days each.
I planted each in there own seperate plastic cup with miracle-gro potting soil on 6/18/11.
Im using the 18-6 light schedule.
I water them about every other day with left out tap water so the chlorine evaporates.
How long before I transplant to my 3 1/2 Gallon bucket???

I have no fan or anything like that. Is that important??

im also still on my first grow with MG soil and as i could have guessed from all the bad reviews im having a lot of problems in the flower stage.... a lot of burn that i really cant do n e thing about even after i flush n flush.... should Really get a different soil, i wish i would have listened but i wanted to find out for myself and did.. should have went with some Fox Farm or some other organic soil.....

Fans circulate the air and also make your plants stronger and grow thicker so i guess its all up to you but would it improve you plant?? yea it will

I have never used MG, so I'm just passing along what I have read. MG has time release nutes in the soil. The release mechanism is triggered by watering (or raining on) the plant. So, when if you have a problem with the plant, and flush it with water in an attempt to help it, you are inadvertantly releasing more and more nutes ... usually compounding the problem.

yes incog i know this lol i had to try tho MG IS DEFF A NO No when you want to be precise with Ferts... i will never do it again thas a for sure.... live and learn right? haha plus it was a good experience.. i got about a month and 6 days left to flower im just hoping my baby survives that long because she isnt looking to well right now.. she is budding like crazy but she looks sick and there is nothing i can do about it.... DAMN MG!!!

You know, there are lots of people on this site that have good luck with MG. From what I've read, if you know what you dealing with in regard to MG, you can be quite successful. However, I prefer the Keep It Simple Stupid form of growing ... that's why I used FFOF ... I think the organic stuff is a little more forgiving.

Yea i agree with you 100% where i went wrong is i had a short veg time of a week maybe (Hardly used any of the nutes in the soil) because i wanted to keep it short which its only about a foot 2 inches tall 14 budding areas.. so i started budding nutes while there was still nutes in the MG soil.... So basicly i double nuted her with each nuteing lol... it all comes down to how you use the soil i guess you could say because if you have a long enough Veg time all the nutes in the soil will be gone but in my case i was just dumb because i didnt know shit 2 months ago lol after reading and studying shit for 2 months i have learned a lot and have long recognized my mistakes...its Amazing what you can do if you put your mind to it lol

So can i just use the same soil and add less nutrients after i think the ones in the soil have gone?
