Just starting out! Need a few questions answered!!

This is my first post too haha. I am starting a closet grow op with 5 plants. 2 Master Kush seeds germinated from paper towel, planted in organic soil indoors today 09-08-2013. 2 Fem Northern Lights in paper towel, have not yet germinated -will soon. and I ended up finding a plant about a foot tall, looks female because it's shooting pistils and has that distinct starry bud on top. I found it in a forest with some others next to it. I took this one because it was the smallest. First question: once my seedlings pop up, should I do 24 hr light or 18/6 light? I am starting out with 3 15 watt T8 fluorescent lights mounted on the closet wall with the 1 unknown plant in the center. I'll attach a few pictures. How old does this plant look? When should I get a different light source when I want to start flowering? This will really help me out. I've been trying for a year to grow and can't get past the seedling stage. I think I got most of it down, but I'm tired of failing and I wanna grow my own bud! I just want to get this going. Thanks!:leaf::leaf:

That HPS bulb is fine but you will need a mogul light fixture and a ballast to power the bulb. The fluorescent lights are great for veg. You could use either veg schedule. I use 24/0 because I don't have a timer for my veg room. Make sure if you use 18/6 keep a regular schedule. I have had stress problems when I vary the photo-period too much. I didn't see any pics of plants tho.

First off that a Metal Halide bulb, HPS bulbs work better for vegging but that's ok, FYI you'll need a separate ballast for that light because a 400W light doesn't fit into a normal light socket. And the ballasts are I believe somewhat expensive. That plant in the picture is already in flowering right now, so switch your lights over to 12/12 or you'll fuck it up. You most likely didn't take anyone's plant, some kids smoking probably threw some seeds out or something, happens all the time on the highways. I really don't know what's going on with your grow closet... but yeah just get that light and keep it far enough away so that it doesn't burn the plant and change the cycle to 12/12 and read up on how to tell when bud is done and ready to be cut and taken cause that looks like it will be soon enough.

No clue. There is times I get strange locations but that one he linked i got one that I shop at. And I'm only a few hours from nj lol. I wish I knew people to get clones and shit from but I'm too paranoid for that shit.

I.dont know which is more unsettling. The fact that you would take someones plant, or the fact that you would admit it so matter of factly. Like stealing is okay. No sir. No.advice from me. kindly leave

so bearly starting in dwc nothing fancy anyway was wanting to know if anyone has ever used dyna gro and got good results also what ppm alshould i start my 6 inch clones its grown new area but no roots have droped into solution using grow stones could that slow down roots

That budding plant is pretty stretched. But anyway, stealing plants is pretty frowned on around here. Think about the work that guy put into his plant, and your just taking it. I would be pretty upset if my plants were stolen. hell i was pissed when someone stole one bud from my plant. Anyways, you need some practice, and those lights wont produce anything great.
Firsttimegrower, just because people disrespect the rediculous laws against growing a harmless plant, doesnt mean they disrespect there fellow human. Laws dont mean shit to me, I do what i think is right, and i think most other people here agree.

You think that some guy who tossed a few seeds out in the woods did a ton of work on that plant? Sorry I don't mean to sound like a dick, just saying I doubt anyone will even be coming to look for that plant.

Plants need love, you will be lucky to get a gram off that plant anyways. And still, stealing plants isnt cool. I have known many people to plant out in the woods. hell i do it. That plant looks like shit so maybe your right. But even if hes coming back to water it, still time and effort and risk. Should have just left it where it was, it would have done better there. And you say no ones coming back to get it, so you wouldnt have to worry about it being gone.

Well its already done, have fun growing.

I agree taking plants isn't cool. I don't care where they are or whose they are....I consider that not your plant... So that one plant isn't your grow its someone else's..

i have had thieves a couple months ago and they took 4 my regular bag seed females, with 1 inch buds forming nicely. just because you say it was his smallest plant don't mean anything. regardless of it being illegal, someone put they're time and energy into that plant! and you coming along and stealing it, like an asshole is a douche bag thing to do! also if you yanked that thing outta the ground and planted in a pot, you more than likely killed it, and if it doesn't die, its going to be in so much shock its not going to produce shit. high 5 dick

The whole country and constitution of european america is based off theft of land, plants, and genocide, he tossed the plant away into the woods and gave it away is about all that happened. It is quite hilarious the hypocrisy in the loss of a plant outside, especially if its not even on private property of which would be stolen property anyway, lol. Assuming hes even from usa, but that general theme doesn't have many exceptions anyway.
