Just want to confirm I am doing this right..

So the purpose of "burping" the jars is to get the humidity on target correct? I ask cause I have 12 jars and they are all floating between 55% - 60% so there is no reason to open them at this time.

Just want to make sure I am doing it right.

The purpose of burping is to allow the plant to cure. It takes 1.5 seconds per jar to exchange air, maybe twice a week on average, you must do it or your bud will be crap, having stewed in offgasing.. ..gases.. and stalling out the conversion of starches. Remember flushing is a myth but fresh weed is "harsh" if it's unflushed lol.

I have seen tons of chemical and organic bud ruined because people are stupid and seal the shit up permanently for some reason. All the prepackaged crap at dispos is a great example. A large portion of it would be smokable if they only burped their shit once a week instead of cranking it into little plastic cans and letting it stew for weeks.

Oh crap.. Been 2 or three days... Ok I just opened them up and set them outside.. STRONG smell.. There will be a rush on TP AND Doritos here pretty quick. Hopefully I did not ruin them.. Thanks for letting me know.

I will do twice a week. Allowing them to sit a couple days gets them right in the sweet spot.

Agree?

You still need to burp them, even if the humidity is a bit lower than your target. It's an exchange of gasses. Only takes a couple of seconds.

Once my cannabis is jarred, I burp a couple times a day for the first few days, then once per day for another week or so, then a couple times a week for another week, then once per week up to six months, at which time they are ready for vacuum sealing and put into the freezer.

What does a lack of oxygen and humidity create? Mold!
