Now, i just wanted to know. i know it comes with a HPS bulb and a MH bulb

Now when i use this, do i use the HPS bulb for the begging of the growth stage or the MH bulb?


and once my seed is in its pot how far away should i keep the light away from the seedling?



and.... how many plants is reccomended to grow under a 1000watt light or
how many could i grow?

Yes, this is a great find for the beginning grower who has money to spend on a HPS and MH bulb setup.

and as for what bulbs to use when...

I like to use mh (metal halide) lights for my vegetative cycle. They emit a lot of the blue spectrum which the plant likes for root, stem and leaf growth. Depending on the size of your garden will determine what wattage you should use. I do it big so I use 1000 watt bulbs. They come in 250, 400 and 600 watts and a few others. Your plant will love this light.

Hps (high pressure sodium) bulbs are like mh lights but they put out a lot of red light. The plant likes this light when flowering. It also is a little bit brighter than a mh light of the same wattage. A 1000 watt mh puts out around 80,000 lumens and the hps put out about 125,000 lumens. And yes brighter is better. These lights are not cheap and if you can only afford one then just get the hps light.

Its a nice price & i have nothing but good things to say about HTG supply & their lights,i prefer my HTG lights over my lights from sunlight supply.

Let me ask you this,are you dead set on getting a 1,000 watt light,i find that in my rooms the big 1,000 watters have a lot of drawbacks like massive heat & harder to place,big lights need to be placed farther away from the canopy due to the heat which is a focused heat,plus with a single 1,000 watter the light spread is not adjustable to the plants changing needs,i no longer use the two 1,000's i have for budding,veg only.

Think about this,if you bought 2 400 watt systems the cost would be the same as the 1,000,you'd have less heat focused in such a tight area as with the big light,you'd have much more flexibility as to where to direct the light because of dual reflectors & being able to seperate the 2 lights,you'd also be able to place the lights much closer to the canopy because they are much cooler.

Metal Halide is used for veg & HPS is used for flowering but you can use either system for the full grow,you can complete the entire grow running HPS only,you dont really need a MH light at all.

How many plants you can properly light depends on what grow method you use & how large you intend to let the plants grow,the fatter the plant the less floor space,right? The taller the plant the less light will penetrate the canopy, right ?

As for the seedling you can use a florescent light instead of a HID light,hid's are way too hot & emit too much light for tender seedlings & you run the risk of burning the seedlings to death,stick with cheap florescents for seedlings until you get a feel for growing so you dont roast your babbies.

Being a new grower i think 2 400 watt hps systems will serve you much better over a 1,000 dual system.

The price is a little high compared to alot od other places for a 1000 watt setup.Make sure its at least a digital ballast for that price as if its an older magnetic ballast its way to high.Its also from HTG which is you read around is quite prone to faulty and cheaply made equiptment and thier email response is almost non existant.You use the mh for the veg stage and the hps for the flower stage. Do not put new seedlings or clones under this light this is for once they are rooted well and established or this much light can kill small plants easily.Good luck
