Keck clips - would they work on my new inline?

I saw a video of a guy using a keck clip a long time ago and from what I understand they eliminate that problem of your bowl getting stuck in the stem. This is a stemless as you can see.
Could somone explain exactly how these work and from judging the pics of my new pipe would it be good to buy a couple?

Does not look like you need one for that piece, but where did you get that ?

Got it from sasha at puffnpassglass. The joint (not good at glass terminology) is conical so I thought I might need one of those. Should I cancel my order from aqualab? I just made it.

I would but, you might want to hang on to it you never know you might get a piece some day that needs one. and they are only what $7.50 or so.

Arent the shape of the slides (joint part) conically tapered? I think thats what the clips are for but still not sure.

The way I have always seen them used was to hold the down steam or diffuser to the tank joint, so that when you pull your Slide or (Bowl head) the diffuser or down steam dose not come with it, and stays in place.

Yeah thats exactly how they work, to avoid breaking our downstem if you pull the bowl out at an angle. I had one but it broke.. They are kind of handy but I can usually just push my downstem in a little harder and then it solves the problem itself.

So if your piece doesnt have a stem it has no purpose and cant grab onto the edge of the downstem.

Glad you guys liked it. It was $250 and I got it on sale for $185, a fuckin steal. Couldn't let it go. I offered my dad and his girlfriend to buy me that piece for an oz. and a couple grams of resin powder. She said no problem. Im making a case for it, bought Dr. Greens flash chalice cleaner and until I get used to handling it I'll only use it inside, away from cement floors. I'll post a picture of it chambered when I get it for amusement. Its called a "gridded" inline, dont know what gridded means. Anyone?
