Keeping plants smaller???

Is there a way to make a plant smaller for a small grow area without taking away from your harvest that much.

read up on LST, topping and fimming - all are techniques covered in the faq and stickies that help you keep the plant short. also, there are pygmy strains that naturally grow small.

Have u got any plants groin atm? If so wot height r they? Wot height can u manage them at?Basicly there's a few things u can do , u can top the plant,clip it at the 1st or 2nd highest nodes,then the plant will tend to grow bushier rather than taller, if ya plants r young an in veg stage u can bend the plant right over an tie il with wire ties not to tight ,u don't wonna kill ya babies, there r a number ov things u can choose , read up on LST[low strees training], happy groin

Hey Buddy, A good easy way (not 100% effective, depends on strain too...) Is to keep the lights as close as possible (being CFLs) to the plants. If the plants are just sprouting add 2-4 23watt CFL lights, if its too hot for your hand its too hot for the plants. Normally 2-5" away, the closer the better. Keeping the lights on as long as possibly, before flowering try 24/7 Lighting.

Yeah, I've never done a smaller grow, so this has been educational for me too.

I mean, I always want to grow as much as freakin possible. LOL

ya i am on my first grow to and did not think about it and now i have three, six foot tall plant. a bit bigger then i wanted but i think they finaly done growing up and cant rasie my light any more. but next time around i will use some of ya'lls info.

Guys, I believe this guy should go for SOG. SOG = Sea of green = 1 single colar. The best way to do this would be keeping the root space micro.Like small cup to start off with then switch to a bit bigger for budding. You would be turning you plant into bud as fast as possible. Pretty much what happens is your node spacing gets tight and you grow one big bud that can weigh alot when they are dense 1-2 oz buds for people who know how to do it. It takes more plants, But you can sure get alot more for your space. E.G 2 big bushes = 5oz or something. or 10-15, 2 ft tall buds that are 1 oz at least each... Read up. Hope this helps. Peace
