whats your take on this method matt? as a (quick-fix)??
I'm not Matt, but I have an answer so I'll respond.
No. Kief making isn't a shortcut to concentrate making. It's not all around superior to bubble hash. I prefer it to bubble hash because it's smoother to smoke. But I do not think it's as strong.
Like bubble hash, it varies widely in quality.
I'm making it based on my personal observations that buyers aren't stoked on average quality bubble hash due to the large amounts of bubble hash on the market. Why would they want to buy something they already have a lot of? Kief is just being made in lower quantities than bubble has at them moment, which is why the general higher pricing exists.
It's not a quick way to produce the same result as bubble hash. It's not superior to hash. It's just different than hash. Hash is in general stronger. Kief is much smoother. When I take a hit of hash, I can't hold it in as long and it doesn't make my lungs feel real great. Kief is just as smooth as smoking a bowl, if not more so. That allows me to take a bigger hit, and hold it in longer. When I exhale, my lungs generally feel fine. It's better than smoking a bowl IMO, and just different than smoking hash.
Generally, I don't think you can reach the same peak high with kief than you can with bubble hash though.
Of course I could be wrong about that. I may make a batch of kief with high grade trim and use a 120 micro screen instead of just a standard 220 work bag. I did manage to make one small batch of kief with bubble to it. Although I wouldn't describe it as "full melt", but it was close. That leads me to believe it might be possible, it's just a matter of perfecting a technique.
But at the same time, that isn't my primary purpose for making the kief, so I'm not going to spend too much time on it. My purpose is getting the highest yield combined with the highest market value. In that, I'm pretty convinced kief is the way to go.
