Kind of odd, but I want to make sure Pics incluided....

So I've been in veg for about 3 weeks or so. I have 8 26 watt Daylight Cfl's in a home made grow box.

My question is, can plants sex themselves? I noticed what looks to me to be pistils on the lower nodes of my plant. The only thing I can think of is that they weren't getting proper lighting down at the lower nodes and caused it to sex itself?

One plant is about 6 inches tall, the other about 4, planted both at the same time and both are quite bushy. Both are showing the same "Pistil" around the lower nodes only.

I've never had this happen to me before in previous grows, so I was just wondering. If they are both females, I'll consider myself lucky considering this is bagseed.

Any opinions on this one guys?

Yeah I know, they usually pop out white and in a pair at first, it's not a burnt new leaf set. I really checked it out and it looks like matured pistils. It's really trippin' me out lol.

Plants do show sex during veg, but usually late veg, like at 6 weeks or so, not at the third week

It looks like a female preflower to me, not a pistol though, usually the pistols come out of those pointy things that your seeing

Just give her time and she will show her true sex

I kinda figured it wasn't pistils, because I didn't see the Calyx's they should be coming out of. Figured I'd ask though because the bottom nodes look like that pale salmon-ish color and the top nodes look green. It's happening on both plants.

Never had that happen before in past grows, the only difference in this grow is I'm growing with CFL's for the first time.

I don't know if this will change things but.... At the time of posting this thread I didn't have my grow note pad handy so I estimated the "About 3 weeks". Needless to say my estimation was about a week and a half off . So I'm actually 2 days shy of 5 weeks at the moment.
