Kind

I was wondering if anyone has used the organic soil brand kind soil? I was wanting to know if it is worth trying? I do not have the time to mix my own. I was interested in this because it says that you only have to use water and no added nutrients. If anyone has used this, I would like to know if it is as advertised?

I tried it 2 different ways. I had issues both times. Used enough for 4 month grow, lasted 30 days til def's started. Won't buy it again. Maybe I'm just not cut out for organic soil.

You could also look into Mephisto's super soil mix. People are saying good things about that. It's geared toward auto's but a bigger pot with more mix should be good for reg plants with a longer grow period.

I've switched to coco, feeding nutes daily and having a much better go of it. I'm done with soil. lol

So you're using straight cocoa and then adding nutrients daily I am kind of new to the whole deal what kind of nutrients are you using or should I use

High Nightrocker

I use soilless with hydro nutes like Creature1969 does but I use a peat based media instead of coco but they basically work the same. I too don't do so good as a dirt farmer and when not growing in pots I do DWC and don't get dirty at all. :)

It's a pretty easy method and I use pH Perfect nutes with RO water and don't ever check pH and nothing ever goes wrong except a little nute burn once in a while with unfamiliar strains mostly. I like the ProMix HP. Just fill pots with it, add nutes and you're growing. Has tons of perlite already in it and stays nice and loose for fast growing roots. Can re-use it too with a bit of a wash.

No matter what soil you use you will eventually need some sort of nutes to grow good plants.

Good Luck!

I tried the Kind Soil for an "easy" first grow. It was a headache all the way through.

I was nervous switching to coco after seeing the "work" involved and people saying issues pop up fast, PPM's, stricter PH etc.

I went straight coco on top of 2" perlite. I'm using Canna Coco nutes. Mixing to about 1/2 their light feed schedule. Watering to about 10% runoff daily (sometimes I skip a day if I'm sick or lazy and plants in smaller containers complain when I do). I don't check PPM and I only check PH of my mixed nutes 1 or 2 times/week as the canna nutes bring my water to the correct PH.

Turns out the "more work" involved is just mixing the nutes. It's less work overall as there's no guessing what's in the soil, how long it'll last, when to water, how much to water. Plus, as long as you have good drainage, you cannot over water coco. I dump 1.5 gallons of water/nutes through 3.5 gallons of coco daily. I'm sure I'm wasting nutes but the payoff will be worth it compared to my last grow.

I chose Canna nutes as they're formulated for coco so I figured they'd be my best bet for my first foray into coco.

Last grow I would stare at my plants wondering wtf was wrong. Now I stare and smile.
