Over the weekend, Donald Trump’s son and one of his closest advisers posted an odd photo on their social media accounts:



This raised some important questions.

Why is there a frog standing directly behind Trump?
That’s Pepe. He’s a symbol associated with white supremacy.

Wait. Really? White supremacy?
That’s right.

Please explain.
Here’s the short version: Pepe is a cartoon frog who began his internet life as an innocent meme enjoyed by teenagers and pop stars alike.

But in recent months, Pepe’s been almost entirely co-opted by the white supremacists who call themselves the “alt-right.” They’ve decided to take back Pepe by adding swastikas and other symbols of anti-semitism and white supremacy.

“We basically mixed Pepe in with Nazi propaganda, etc. We built that association,” one prominent white supremacist told the Daily Beast.

Trump has retweeted his white supremacist supporters with regularity, but the connection between the alt-right and his campaign continues to strengthen. Trump has been slow to disavow support from Ku Klux Klansmen and white supremacy groups, and he recently hired Breitbart.com’s Steve Bannon as his campaign CEO (and Bannon isn’t shy about the fact that his “news” organization is the “platform for the alt-right”).

Now white supremacists have given Pepe the cartoon frog some Trump hair—and the candidate’s own son says he is “honored to be grouped with” him.

Let me get this straight: Trump’s presidential campaign is posting memes associated with white supremacy online?

Convicts aren't allowed to vote unless they petition to have that right reinstated. Almost none of them do. If they don't care, why should you? Oh yeah, you need to push a false agenda.

Those are important factors to know. If one were to accept your premise, what about a 96% denial rate? And what if the laws made it so one had to wait seven years after any type of probation, etc.? Might those factors explain why so few people petition?

That wasn't an argument, it was an offer of services for payment. Is there a 96% denial rate? Is there a 7 year wait? "What if" sounds like a hypothetical argument. Denials are required if the felon recommits. Frankly, I see no reason to ever restore voting rights to felons. Just as I see no reason to give voting rights to illegals. You, however think negating the votes of law abiding citizens is justifiable if it gives you a political advantage. Just as you think it is morally acceptable to demonize those who disagree with you. Ok. I will spell it out for you. You said that proof that convicts don't care is that so few of them petition. I see other reasons that convicts might not petition. If it costs you thousands of dollars and nobo6dy gets reinstated, it seems like they are being denied their rights. Maybe they do care. So your arguement is invalid unless you can show otherwise. Not in all states. Convicts very often don't know their rights under the law and are generally not aware that they can have their voting rights reinstated.

This is racist AND classist; many convicts got that way because they couldn't afford their own legal representation.
