Today I'd like to share the "day before harvest" pictures. You know damn well that I wont want to take pictures when I wake up, so this allowes it to get done =)
Pic 048: Some numbers I just love. 420 & 69.
Pic 049: Harvest is tomorrow morning, so this evening we took some of the major fan leaves off of the plants. Why? They arent going to benefit them much at all at this point, so, it helps light up the nugs underneath to get them a little more jucier. The goal is generally to harvest the top 2/3's of the plant, and let any popcorn sized nugs bulk up over a few days. Doing this speeds it up by one, which if you have 7 harvests a year, help to get you that extra week a year back.
Pic 050: I removed the side light shield to show the plants now that they are fan trimmed. The light panel is already back in place. The left side is A and the right side is C, so what you see is mostly the topped plants to the front of the camera. Plants are boring to photograph from the side because the fan leaves block them so much.
Pic 051: Bubblicious
Pic 052: Yum.
Pic 053: Yummmmmmm.
Pic 054: This plant, despite being topped properly, only has two tops, instead of four.
Pic 055: This is a properly topped plant, I cant see the strain twist-tie color, so not sure which strain it is. Notice at the site where the plant was cut when a baby has really beefed up and bulked out. There's a visible seam on the area which the top two branches meet the stem, and they are bulky and solid. However, if they get too heavy, they would most certainly be a huge risk of the branch leaning too heavy around weeks 6-8 of flowering, and break the branch.
Pic 056: This is the same plant as the photograph above, except you can see the whole thing just not where the branches meet the stem topping.
Pic 057:
Pic 058: This is ONE PLANT. It starts on the bottom left corner in the bucket, has about 4-5 tops, and then shoots to the side and up. New York Power Diesel/Nirvana strain.
Pic 059: This plant made a globular cluster. I've never seen quite as large of a top of any plant -- in my entire life. It's probably a mutation, but fun to look at nonetheless.
Pic 060: Front two plants are bubbleicious. A little more trimmed up and ready to be harvested in the morning.
Pic 061: One of the untopped plants, the side branches are juicy, full, and ready to go.
Pic 062: This is a New York Power Diesel/Nirvana strain -- again like picture 058. There's barely any nugs. It looks like a bush, not weed! It'll probably be a honey oil / hash candidate for the entire plant......... At first I thought it might need more flower time, but......
Pic 063: ...the nugs are present and the trichomes are cloudy. I dont think another 2 weeks would help this plant. I'll probably keep this one, picture 058's plant, and one other one under a single light for a week to see if they get a little jucier. Since I planned to do that, the fan leaves for the ones to juice up a bit more havent been cut at all.
Pic 064: I love you.
......till tomorrow.
