Not at all. Self control is simply a tool. Knowledge is literally power. It is the answer and the secrets.
Knowledge can tell you when controlling yourself is good, and when letting go is ok.

Sometimes power is power. Look at the leaders of the world, they have shitloads of power but I don't think I'd go as far to say they have any real Knowledge..
Then again fucking up the world I guess that dose take some type of Knowledge.
They have power because they know what has been happening in the country for the past few hundred years, and they know how western civilization grew up and are able to maneuver in hostile and political landscapes with either brute force or finesse thanks to that knowledge.
Ex: Many politicians read about Cicero and other Greek or Roman speakers. Because those places are where "Democracy" comes from.
